The Golden Grove base and precious metals mine in Western Australia produces concentrates of zinc, copper and other base and precious metals from underground using a variety of extraction processes. With a recent departure, we now have an opportunity for an experienced Leading Hand to join our team.
Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, you will be responsible for coordinating and leading the Electrical maintenance team to deliver an effective and responsive maintenance function. You will be accountable for maintaining all electrical components and equipment and executing scheduled maintenance work to achieve the required level of plant availability, reliability and capacity. You will be responsible for managing a small crew of technicians and will ensure all work is completed within the agreed time frames and in line with safe working standards and requirements.
Responsibilities will also include breakdowns, fault finding, diagnostics, major rebuilds preventative maintenance, condition monitoring and interaction with OEM representatives. Maintaining high standards in order to allow efficient operation of the equipment, and prevent unscheduled plant downtime is critical to success. The role entails the implementation of best practice maintenance methods to ensure compliance with MMG policies and procedures.
As a successful candidate you will have a strong demonstrated background in various leadership roles having a high level of operational and safety exposure within an underground mining environment. You will have strong demonstrated people skills in building relationships at all levels, providing direction and building trust within the team.
Qualified as an Electrical Trades person, it is essential you hold an “A” Class Electrical Licence and HV Switching Ticket have a sound knowledge of a complex processing plant as a minimum. Previous Leading Hand experience within a mining operation will be highly regarded.
Experience and training in mining equipment will be highly regarded. This permanent position will commute on a 2/1 roster (7 Shifts NS, followed by 7 Shifts DS) flying in and out from either Perth or Geraldton. Accommodation and meals are provided in a comfortable modern camp with swimming pool, fully equipped gym, Foxtel, beach volleyball, outdoor cricket pitch and tennis courts.
