EXPERIENCED TRADES ASSISTANT
Immediate start
Fixed, 12 week contract with possibility of ongoing employment
38 hours per week
Operating since 1889, Holy Cross Laundry Ltd is a high volume commercial production facility, which employs approximately 190 staff and provides hire linen services to the major hospitals, aged care facilities and hospitality venues in the Brisbane area.
We are a Mercy Ministry with a mission to provide employment and training opportunities to the disadvantaged within the community and people with an intellectual disability. As an Australian Disability Enterprise (ADE) we employ 38 people in Supported Employment and are a fully integrated workplace.
We have recently moved to a new purpose built facility at Banyo and are increasing our Maintenance &Engineering Team.
We are seeking to fill the position of Trades Assistant.
Roster with rotating shifts each week:
Shifts are 4:30am to 12:30pm or 12noon to 8pm
Shifts are Monday to Friday
Flexibility of working hours as required
Skills and Attributes:
The successful applicants will be enthusiastic, with relevant skills, 2-3 years’ experience in an Industrial Environment.
Must Have
Current Drivers Licence and reliable transport
Strong focus and commitment to Work Place Health & Safety
Strong Mechanical ability
Attention to detail
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Effective team player
It is desirable but not essential to hold any of the following:-
· Fork Lift Licence
· Elevated Work Platform Licence
· Experience as a trades assistant
Responsibilities:
You will be a self-starter and be able to assist in routine and unplanned maintenance of equipment as well as provide breakdown support.
Your duties will include assisting maintenance in attending to general breakdowns and servicing of laundry equipment.
You will have a focus on safe work practices and adherence to WH&S legislation and HCL Policy and Procedure at all times.
