The School of Psychology, Social Work and Social Policy (PSW) is in the Division of Education, Arts and Social Sciences (EASS), and operates across two campuses – Magill and City East. The School is committed to delivering high quality teaching and learning and research outcomes across the Discipline of Psychology and the Discipline of Social Work and Human Services, and has developed strong industry links and relationships with key stakeholders including professional organisations and government agencies to facilitate projects and placements for staff and students. In the international arena, the School is a leader in community engagement activities.

Reporting to the Head of School: Psychology, Social Work and Social Policy through the Chief Investigator this position will involve working on a study funded by the NHMRC to examine the impact of meal timing on glucose metabolism during an in-laboratory, simulated shift work study. The project will be conducted in the Centre for Sleep Research at the University of South Australia. The role will be responsible for overseeing the study including participant recruitment, conducting sleep studies, and the preparation of data for reports.

The successful candidate will hold a Doctorate qualification in a relevant discipline (BRF level only) or a tertiary qualification in a related discipline (ARAS level) with demonstrated equivalent skills and knowledge in a research environment. They will also have demonstrated experience and understanding of clinical trials or sleep studies and research in the healthcare system including compliance with the statutory privacy and ethical requirements for research. In addition, they will have a demonstrated ability and experience undertaking quality research activities appropriate to the BRF or ARAS classification level, which maximises publishing outputs in national and international referred journals and for presentation at national and international academic seminars and conferences.
