The School of Accounting is one of the largest Accounting Schools in Australia and aims to be recognised as the leading Australian business school in the Accounting discipline and continuously develops and builds upon its credible research profile.

As Associate Professor you will provide leadership and foster excellence in the teaching and research efforts of the School, within the University, and with the community, professional, commercial and industrial sectors in an Accounting related discipline. You will also be responsible for providing original, innovative and distinguished contributions to the School’s programs and for maintaining and advancing your scholarly, research and/or professional capabilities at a national and international level.

The role will also make a significant contribution to teaching and learning with the aim of improving learning outcomes for students and for making a significant contribution to the planning and strategic direction of the School which may involve taking on academic leadership roles involving participation in various committees within the School, College and University and external to the University, as appropriate. As Associate Professor, the role may also be appointed as a Deputy Head of School for a specific Accounting discipline or to provide strategic leadership for learning and teaching or research and scholarship.

Your demonstrated ability to develop innovative approaches to student-centred learning, teaching and quality improvement programs in a field relevant to the School of Accounting together with a nationally recognised research track record including a substantial record of research outputs in high quality outlets and competitive research grants will benefit your application. Furthermore, experience in supervising higher degree by research students as well as an ability to lead scholarly development and management of academic teams will be essential. To be considered, a PhD in a field relevant to the discipline of Accounting is mandatory.
