Sydney based retail FMCG Buyer role to manage purchasing and sourcing for export company.

An exciting opportunity to join a global FMCG trading company with Head Offices in Hong Kong and large retail/FMCG operations across China.
Your new role:
The objective of the role is to co-ordinate the day to day purchasing function for the sourcing of locally manufactured FMCG goods to be exported to China. The role is responsible for setting up the full purchasing function which will include the sourcing of local FMCG products, supplier relationships within the network of suppliers, input and management of Purchase orders and supporting the Sourcing Manager. Effective management of local suppliers, On time delivery of all purchased items. Process purchase orders, monitor all outstanding purchase orders, Liaise with local suppliers on estimated delivery times, Provide information to other departments on expected delivery dates and lead times. Maintain accurate delivery dates. Ensure all documentation related to locally sourced products to be exported is received complete and on time, assist the Manager in the assessment of existing suppliers and the selection of new suppliers, liaise with Head office and overseas offices, regular reviews of vendor/supplier data, responsible for managing and address quality issues with local suppliers.
What you will need to succeed:
Essential to this role is relevant buying/purchasing experience in the FMCG/retail environment ideally with baby/maternity & personal care products, Health Products/Supplements, Food/Confectionery or Cosmetic Products. Strong knowledge of local suppliers, customs shipping documentation and exports processes, excellent written and verbal communication skills (mandarin speaking an advantage), Ability to work autonomously, good planning and time management skills.
