Randstad Education is working exclusivity with Agnew School which has four
campus’ across Queensland (Brisbane, Wide, Nambour and Toowoomba).

We are currently helping the school recruit for permanent 0.8 FTE Teachers Aid
Seconday School position to start the new school year in 2016.

Agnew School is committed to the introduction of the OneSchool Global concept

As the Teacher Aide you will contribute to the provision of a quality educational service by providing high level support for teaching and learning.  The Teacher Aide reports to the Campus Coordinator or the nominated HOFs as appropriate. As the role provides high level support for teaching and learning, it is envisaged that a Teacher Aide would report to class teachers for individual student needs.

The characteristics of a Learning Support Teacher Aide role include:

* specialised knowledge of secondary,
* limited direction from staff,
* initiative and the application of judgement.

You will have responsibility for leading the following activities and delivery of the following key tasks:  however this list is not comprehensive

* Assist and support teachers in the preparation of quality and effective teaching and learning programs which are consistent with the Principles of Effective Learning and Teaching and relevant syllabi, curriculum policies, work programs and educational trends.
* Support students through effective interaction with them in a variety of settings and through the active development of supportive learning environments and successful behaviour management practices.
* Assist teachers in providing for the physical, social, cultural and emotional wellbeing and physical safety of students whilst at school and enhance their overall development towards effective citizenship and responsible adulthood through participation in timetabled and non-timetabled activities.
* Work in a number of areas that require knowledge of policies and procedures, behaviour management, alternative and greater communication devices and strategies, classroom duties, assisting in program delivery and keeping students focused.
* Exercise a high level of initiative and enthusiasm in accomplishing objectives either with individual students or in a classroom.
* Work is performed independently with guidance from superiors only for those aspects of work which involve learning support students.
* Supervision of learning support students with the responsibility for ensuring an appropriate standard of skills and the completion of work assignments.
* Interpretation and application of processes and documented precedents within a school environment may be required.
* Establish and maintain appropriate interpersonal relationships with/between the school and community particularly in regard to the ethical obligations outlined in the Queensland Government Code of Conduct.
* The duties to be performed by a Teacher Aide will be determined at the local level and will have a specific focus on providing high level support for teaching and learning.
* Participate as appropriate in professional development activities.
