We currently have an exceptional opportunity for a General Physician to join the team in the Division of Medicine within the Mater Hospital Brisbane. The Mater Hospital Brisbane is a teaching hospital located in South Brisbane. Mater Health Services is a not-for-profit private healthcare organisation providing care to both insured and non-insured patients, employing more than 6500 staff and provides care to some people every year. As a Level Three University of Queensland (UQ) affiliated teaching hospital, the Mater has an active student teaching program and both basic and advanced trainees are enrolled with the RACP. The hospital actively encourages clinical research and is affiliated with the Mater Research Institute which is located on campus. We are seeking a Full time General Physician to join two other general Physicians in the in the Division of Medicine on permanent basis. The successful applicant would manage one of the three General Medical Units as well as Directing the 7 bed Acute Medical Assessment and Planning Unit (served by a panel of the Division’s physicians) and participating in Perioperative Medicine. A full range of sub specialties is available within the Division including 6 CCU and 16 ICU beds. The successful candidate will be a key member of our Basic Physician Training program. To be successful in this role, you will have: Ability to manage complex medical problems integrating knowledge and clinical skills Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, and to be able to promote harmonious relationships within a compassionate environment Demonstrated teaching ability and to be able to organise an effective teaching program. A commitment to medical research Demonstrated ability to lead others and develop services Demonstrated participation in quality assurance activities, including RACP My CPD program Essential qualifications and experience: Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and Registration as a General Physician (or eligibility for) with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Authority (AHPRA).
