The role
We are currently seeking a talented Senior Mechanical Engineer to provide significant technical design engineering knowledge and effective project management skills to support the ongoing activities of a leading multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy and to provide the complete analysis and design tasks as assigned by the Dams and Hydropower manager.
With a minimum of 12 years commercial experience in the design of mechanical services, you will play a key role in the Dams and Hydropower team for Melbourne. Your core responsibilities include:
Ensure that analysis and design tasks undertaken meet appropriate technical standards and the requirements of the client and SMEC
Collaborate with appropriate team members, contributors and stakeholders to maintain quality, timeliness and co-ordination of project deliverables
Contribute to the commercial success of projects and the team
Apply project management principles in carrying out assigned tasks and accomplish project deliverables to the required standard and in a timely manner
With a track record of achievement in a similar role, you will have gained your experience in an engineering design consultancy and have a passion for building trusted relationships to drive positive change and win new work.
Suitable applicants will have/be:
Minimum of 15 years experience
Undertake key technical tasks independently across a broad range of small to medium profile projects
Successfully monitor and manage the scope and risk of multiple varying size projects and apply business systems
Can prepare sound technical reports and prepare proposals on small to medium size projects
Relevant tertiary qualifications
