Role overview
Software Dev Sr. Advisor position in the Application Development and
Maintenance (ADM) Services group in Dell India, primarily focusing on working
with Dell’s global clients. Software Dev Sr. Advisor is expected to perform
the role of a Software solution architect who is highly proficient in
Microsoft .Net skill set and advanced understanding of the principles of
applications programming and an expert in defining processes and chalking out
implementation strategy. The person is expected to have credible experience in
understanding the entire project context, and able to demonstrate the
knowledge of end-to-end application architecture. Ideal candidates will have
extensive experience in various Microsoft technologies ( NET 4.0 solutions
with Asp.Net- Web forms , WCF, MVC, VS.NET , C#, LINQ, Entity framework
frameworks). Candidates should be excellent team players, yet capable of
working independently, and will be able to manage multiple projects at once.
Candidates will work with very little direction, will be comfortable leading
conference calls and flexible to working collaboratively with a globally
dispersed Dell Services team.
Role Responsibilities
· Business requirements gathering
· Involves in providing guidance to ensure overall technical growth of
the team.
· Involves in designing the overall architecture of Solution.
· Defines development standards and tailor development lifecycle
process and deliverables to ensure strong technical compliance of solution and
code.
· Involves in solutioning with strong non-functional requirements
including performance, maintainability and complex integrations
· Understanding the business requirements and developing the high
level design and low level design preparation
· Providing solution and estimation for the proposals (RFP/RFI)
· Engages in developing proof of concepts (POCs) for new programs and
conducts peer code reviews, estimation reviews.
· Work through ambiguous requirements, define reasonable assumptions
and lead the solution estimation process by working collaboratively with
technical sales team.
· Interacts with business users, I/T, vendors and customers to define
current and future application requirements.
· Involved in troubleshooting and debugging critical problems and
resolving complex technical issues that may arise.
· Leads customer interaction and resolves customer issues with
software solutions and responds to suggestions for improvements and
enhancements and contributes on proposal writing.
· Drives engineering processes for the project such as build
automation, unit testing, software configuration management and packaging.
· Mentoring junior team members and helping senior team members and
architects in design decisions.
Requirements
· Mandatory Skills
· 10+ years of experience in solution design and development in
Microsoft technologies
· Technical Skills :
· Strong experience in Microsoft .NET (3,3,5,4.0) with ASP.Net web
forms and Win forms
· Strong experience in VS.NET 2010/2012/2013 , C#, LINQ, Entity
framework
· Strong experience in implementing Microsoft .NET solutions with SQL
Server 2008/2012
· Strong experience in .NET web services WCF,RESTful Services
· UI Frontend frameworks like – Modular JS, Jquery 1.8x, Ajax, CSS3,
AngularJS other Java Script frameworks,HTML5
· Experience with Visual Studio, TFS
· Good knowledge on XSL,, XML Parsing, Xpath
· Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF), ReST, Web API
,MultiThreading, IIS
· Experience in configuring web servers IIS , App pools and web
applications and Build tools (NANT etc.) & unit testing utilizing .Net Unit
Testing Framework ,NUNIT and other unit testing tools
· Architecture/Design Skills
· Able to implement and enhance the existing architecture of the
application
· Familiarity with .NET/GOF Design patterns
· Object-oriented design (OOD/OOP)
· Understanding of the use of frameworks, re-usable components and
design patterns
· Demonstrable experience in large project estimation, high Level
Designs, low Level Designs
· Defining Standards, approach and best practices
· Taking development decisions for middleware Services
· Involved in design in n-tier web/win based applications
· Actively participate in environment readiness and supporting System
/ UAT/ OAT / PEN testing phases.
· Involved in security design decision of the applications and its
proof of concepts like single SSL, mutual SSL

· Demonstrable experience in the continuous delivery like Continuous
Integration tools, Code coverage tools, code guideline tools

· Working knowledge of relational databases in an SQL Server /Oracle
environment utilizing SQL and PL/SQL

architects in design decisions
· Enhancing knowledge base for Software Factory team members and
updating knowledge pool on internal WIKI site

· Experience in working in agile/scrum model with evolving
requirements and aggressive timelines
· Familiarity with virtualization, cloud deployment, Web farms and
Load balancers, Performance troubleshooting techniques
Preferences
· Graduate degree in a computer science related field with a minimum
of 10 years of software development experience
· Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer(MCSD)
· Experience in working directly with customers
