Description:
This is a senior virtualization consultant role which involves detailed design
&implementation; and of virtualization/Private Cloud solution for clients
to support datacenter upgrades, migrations and consolidation projects and
working with cross functional team spread across multiple time-zones
* VMware vExpert Certification
* Experienced in managing technology solutions/platforms in an enterprise environment
* Expert-level understanding the Virtualization technology, including: VMware ESX/vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V
* Strong experience in virtualization technologies, such as VMware, KVM and OpenStack
* Knowledge and experience with VMware 4.x enterprise and 5.x enterprise
* Working experience with vSphere systems administration and support including VMotion, HA, DRS, VDS, Affinity rules, VCenter, storage migrations, and P2V migrations
* Working experience with vSphere Thin Provisioning, Resource Pools, Host Profiles
* Experience with hardware components like HP Pro servers and Cisco UCS,
* Experience with high availability and disaster recovery solutions and tools including clustering, load balancing
* Knowledge about tools like Patch management, Update Manager, VCenter, VC operations, VMware SRM Experience with VMware Orchestrator will be an added advantage
* Experience in supporting large-scale multi-tenant infrastructure level services
* Good understanding of High-Availability (HA), Cluster architectures, deployments & Experienced in HA solutions.
* Perform capacity planning for the cloud and experience in compute, networking & storage infrastructure.
* Hands on design of enterprise storage includes: storage applications for enterprise storage arrays, Network Attached Storage (NAS), as well as storage management and replication solutions.
* Relevant experience in VMware Storage, Networking, VCAC, VCD and SDDC
* Proven experience implementing enterprise level Virtualization solution
* Minimum skill level knowledge of UNIX and Storage hardware platforms
* Performance, Capacity Planning and Analytical skills
* Exposure to sizing the application requirements and planning for the DR solution.
* Sizing of the infrastructure planned for deployment
* Knowledge on the Network architecture, Storage Architecture and designing the backup infrastructure
* Evaluate new and existing architecture and design solutions that address business issues (scalability, reliability and availability)
* Knowledge in Network elements like Routers, Switches, firewalls, load balancers, VMware API development and Software Defined networking are added advantage
* Exposure to various flavours of Linux and Unix with good knowledge of unix operating system file structure, command line and shell scripts
* Well versed with built-in / native / OEM supplied tools to implement virtualization technologies, migrate datacenter workload and data
Desirable
* Strong knowledge of Windows 2003/2008, Active Directory, DNS, group policy implementation, security policies, etc.
* Knowledge of third party tools and additional platforms such as: DoubleTake, Platespin

* Ability to learn and understand technical and business requirements
* Translate user requirements into technical requirements using available tools
* Ability to discuss virtualization technologies and articulate the advantages and disadvantages of respective platforms and products
* Ability to use assessment utilities and POC environments to demonstrate functionality and scaling
* Good verbal and written communication skills
