Kirtland Community College is being recognized on Victory Media’s 2014 Military Friendly Schools® list honoring the top 20 percent of colleges, universities and trade schools in the country that are doing the most to embrace America’s military service members, veterans, and spouses as students and ensure their success on campus.

Kirtland recognized on 2014 Top Military Friendly Schools list for working to help veterans achieve educational success

“Inclusion on the 2014 list of Military Friendly Schools® shows Kirtland’s commitment to providing a supportive environment for military students,” said Sean Collins, Vice President at Victory Media and a nine-year Navy veteran.   “The need for education is growing and our mission is to provide the military community with transparent, world-class resources to assist in their search for schools.”

Kirtland appreciates the sacrifices our armed forces have made on behalf of our country and the dedication and commitment they have made to help ensure the freedoms we enjoy as Americans.  To better serve our veteran student population, Kirtland has created a Veterans Helping Veterans student organization to assist veterans from all eras of the military to more easily adjust from military to civilian life and to be successful students at Kirtland Community College.

“We are dedicated to providing outstanding services to help veterans, service members or eligible family members of veterans to achieve your academic and personal goals,” says Anne Essmaker, staff advisor for Kirtland’s Veterans Helping Veterans organization.  “We understand attending college can be a big transition and we are committed to doing everything we can do to make each veteran’s educational experience a success.”
