An articulation agreement between Kingswood University and Houghton College was renewed last month, ensuring Kingswood University students the continued possibility of transferring to Houghton College without losing credit hours. The articulation agreement between the two Wesleyan universities is in recognition of the high academic standards and Christ-centered education found in both institutions.

After reviewing the previous articulation agreement, a new agreement was formed to include all of Kingswood’s Associate of Arts degrees, the A.A. in General Education, the A.A. in Early Childhood Education, and the A.A. in Evangelism and Compassion Ministry. Upon meeting entrance requirements and being accepted at Houghton College, a student who has completed an A.A. degree from Kingswood University will have satisfied the general education core requirement for a Houghton College bachelor’s degree.

The transcripts of other KU students transferring to Houghton College will be evaluated course-by course to determine which requirements have been met. If students transfer at least 60 hours that are applicable toward a bachelor’s degree, they will be classified as Juniors.

“This arrangement not only affirms Kingswood’s high educational standards, but also provides an excellent opportunity for New Brunswick students,” said Dr. Stephen Lennox, President of Kingswood. “They can begin college close to home and in a cost-effective way before completing their education at one of the finest liberal arts colleges in North America.”
