Contest: It finished Mastergeeha 0 Killorglin 4 in an under 15 Division 1 tie. The final score flattered the visitors somewhat as this was a more even contest throughout with the lads competing well against promotion chasing Killorglin.

A 10-minute purple patch midway through the second half, when the visitors scored three quick goals, gave the away team the points. S

hane Warren and goalkeeper Con Fleming stood out for Geeha who did have chances with Darren Lehane and Adam O’Connor both going close but Killorglin defended well and were more clinical up front on the day.

Seniors: Mastergeeha beat Castleisland 2-1 in this Premier B clash. In a close game Mastergeeha took the lead midway through the first half when Carlo finished off a good move. After this both sides created some chances with the visitors getting the equaliser with 10 minutes remaining. In the closing stages of the Mastergeeha got the winner when Colm Lenihan scored in added time. All played well.

Blitz: Mastergeeha hosted an under 11 blitz at home on Saturday. All involved did well with plenty of goals throughout.

Under 12 Kerry Cup Park 1 Mastergeeha 9. Two goals each from Hugh Lenihan, James Williams and Sean Doolan and one each from David O’Leary, Oisin Kelly and Jack Donoghue saw the boys qualify for the next round.

Results: In the knockout cup it finished Killarney Athletic 6-0 Castlegregory Celtic while in Division 1B, Athletic lose 2-6 to Sporting Listowel. The latter was a result that flatters the opposition and Athletic were unlucky. Three quickfire goals proved all important in the outcome with Chris O’Meara getting both goals for Athletic.

Club: Forms are still available for this year’s 300 club draw with both the January and February draws taking place at the end of this month. Forms are readily available from any committee member or contact Alan Daly on 085-1913244 or aland15@live.ie.

Replay: Nenagh 1 Killarney Celtic 0. Celtic travelled to Nenagh in big numbers for the Munster Junior Cup replay and there was great support for the team, but Nenagh are a great team in their own right. It was a cracking game, all action from start to finish, but Celtic just couldn’t find a way to peg back the home side’s 33rd minute goal.

Premier B: CSKA Tralee 0 Killarney Celtic B 4. Probably their best performance of the season, really super stuff, with Farouk Aminu, Dan O’Donoghue, Vlad Sirotiak, and Aaron Cahill all on target.

Under 15: In the regional semi-final Killarney Celtic beat Limerick FC 3-2. Terry Sparling scored twice and Jack O’Connor the third in the win. Celtic will play either Regional United A or Charleville in the decider.

In the under 15 Kerry Cup the result was Fenit Samphires 0 Killarney Celtic 1. It was a very close game against an excellent Fenit side but a Cian Doe penalty proved the difference.

Under 12 Girls: Mastergeeha 0 Killarney Celtic. Unfortunately, Mastergeeha did their best but couldn’t put out a team on the day and were reluctantly forced top concede a walkover, an extremely rare and unfortunate occurrence for both teams and certainly not how we like to win.

Under 12: In Division 2 it finished MEK 4 Killarney Celtic C 1. Celtic gave a good account of themselves, with Josh Bowler scoring a great goal, but full credit to an always-improving MEK who were full value for their victory.

Under 11: Killarney Celtic (two teams) v Camp United. Both Celtic teams ended up on the winning side but, far more importantly, a host of youngsters got to practice their skills and enjoy their games in a cheerfully crowded Celtic Park with all players being encouraged and supported all the way.

Team: Congratulations to under15 player Cian Doe on making the Kerry Schoolboys/Schoolgirls Team of the Week.

Condolences: Deepest condolences from everybody at Celtic to one of our great club stalwarts, Diarmuid, and all the Daly family on the sad passing of his father.

Crokes: Congratulations to Dr Crokes on qualifying for the All-Ireland Club final.

Friends: Friends of Maureen Kelliher, Celtic stalwart and mother of Celtic players Roy and Marc, who is living with multiple sclerosis, are organising two significant fundraisers to help to make life a little easier for their popular neighbour and her four children. The first event will be a card drive in Glenflesk Community Centre on February 19 (7.00pm) and the organisers would greatly appreciate support on the night or donations of spot prizes. Following that, on March 4, they are hosting a coffee morning from 10.30am to 1.00pm in the Kerry Way, Glenflesk and, again, support and spot prizes would be greatly appreciated

Killorglin were 5-1 winners over LB Rovers and had goals from Eoghan Hassett, Jack O’Sullivan, Ryan Diggin, Adam Owens and Tom Whittleton in their 5-1 win over LB Rovers for whom Padraig O’Connor scored.

A Stephen Palmer hat trick and a goal from Colin Callaghan saw Ballyhar win at Murt Scott Park to go into the hat for Round 2. They defeated Killorglin C whose Stevie Gannon scored their only goal.

Dingle Bay Rovers were pushed all the way by an ever improving MEK. The sides shared seven goals with the West Kerry player just coming out on top. James Hoare scored twice with the other Dingle Bay goals coming from Cormac O’Cinneide and Antoine O’Se. Eddie Moroney hit a hat trick, his second in two games, saw the Mid Kerry team coming back from 4-0 down to 4-3 but they just ran out of time to find the equaliser.

The Ballyheigue v Castleisland game was abandoned just before half time when the Ballyheigue keeper, Charlie Fitzgerald, suffered a suspected collar bone injury and we all wish him well. The game was scoreless at the time.

15 Cup: Listowel Celtic A had goals from Darragh Lynch, Justin Cotter and Finlay O’Brien as they progressed past Dingle Bay Rovers 3-0.

A Cian Doe penalty was enough to secure a 1-0 win for Killarney Celtic B away to Fenit.

13 Premier: Listowel Celtic proved to be too strong for Killarney Athletic A and their three points moves them to within one of second placed St Brendan’s Park. Celtic’s goals came from Aoife Horgan and Robert Stack (2 each) with one each from Adam Segal, Adam Swan and Tommy Boland while Rocco Rejeccian and Conal Gallagher replied for Athletic.

15 Premier: Sean Kennedy and Leo Gaxha will have to share the match ball as both of them hit hat-tricks in Tralee Dynamos 6-2 win over Killarney Athletic in the 15 Premier. They are now on 10 points, just thre behind leaders Killarney Celtic A.

15 Division 1: Ballyhar are the new leaders of the 15’s Division 1 after they defeated previous leaders Camp Juniors 1-0. Craig O’Sullivan got the only goal in a win that sees them move onto 19 points, two ahead of Camp Juniors. Killorglin remain in third place but have closed the gap on the two sides above them after a 4-1 win over Mastergeeha. Ethan Coffey (2), Stephen O’Loughlin and Callum Russell were the Killorglin scorers.
