Ruth McCarthy of Fexco receiving the accreditation from Robert Lyons of Certification Europe

KERRY headquartered financial services giant Fexco today become the first Irish payment service provider to receive the esteemed ISO 27001 Certification.

Developed by the International Organisation for Standardisation and awarded by Cettification Europe, it is the international standard recognised globally for managing risks to the security of information held by an organisation.

It specifies the requirements and processes to enable a business to establish, implement, review and monitor, manage and maintain effective information security and the certificate was awarded following a rigorous auditing process.

Fexco Corporate Payments chief, Ruth McCarthy, remarked: “Companies processing payments data need to do everything in their power to ensure their customer’s data is secured to the highest of standards.”

Certification Europe chief, Michael Brophy, noted that a number of high profile hacks and data breaches around the world in recent times have brought the issue of information technology security to the forefront of the world’s attention.

“In 2016 the management and protection of data is a growing concern for clients and stakeholders alike. We are confident that Fexco Corporate Payments has continually demonstrated their commitment and their clients can be comfortable in the knowledge that they provide best practices for information security management.”
