The Mt. Pleasant Junior Varsity wrestling team traveled to Iowa city for a tournament last evening. The Panthers had two champions, Jaden Davis and Avonte Henley. Finishing 2nd were: Corbin Broeker, Jamie Johnson, Jeff Taylor, Logan Bass and Mekyle Frazier-Neitman.

The Iowa Wesleyan men’s basketball team is on the road tonight to play at Knox College. The Tigers had a successful road trip over the weekend winning at conference game in Louisville, Ky. against Spalding University. As the holiday break approaches the Tigers are leading the St. Louis intercollegiate Athletic Conference men’s standings, after tonight the Tigers will host Cornell College on the 19th to wrap up the 1st half of the season.
Jesse Ertz a former Mediapolis High School athlete was recently named the Most Valuable Player for the Kansas State football team. Ertz will lead them into their post season bowl against Texas A&M in the 2016 Advocare Texas Bowl December 28th in the NRG Stadium at 8 pm central time.
Riley Killbride former Burlington Notre Dame Girls basketball standout is expected to join the Mediapolis Community School District girls basketball coaching staff. Killbride attends Southeastern Community College and has been doing some Middle School coaching at Burlington Notre Dame.
Tickets for the Mt. Pleasant vs. Harlan boy’s basketball game on 12-23-16 at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines are on sale now in the High School Activities office. This game will be played prior to the Iowa Energy basketball game. Tickets are selling for $10.00, and give you admission to both games. Shottenkirk and Hy-Vee will also have tickets available, stop in at those local business for details on how to get tickets.
