Villages of Van Buren in scenic Southeast Iowa invite you to their largest event of the year! The Scenic Drive Festival, which is always held the second full weekend in October, is full of fun activities for the entire family!
Visitors are encouraged to follow the marked “Scenic Drive” through the county to experience each of the historic Villages. There will be Fine Arts, Crafts, Flea Markets, Live Music & Entertainment, Car Show, Tractor Shows, Parade, Tours of Historic Sites, Fun Runs and so much more. NEW this year, fascinating tours of Millard’s Turtle Farm near Birmingham, Special Open Houses at the Wickfield Farm Sales Pavilion (Round Barn) near Cantril and the historic Clark Barn near Stockport. Also NEW, Keosauqua will feature Eulenspiegel Puppet Show, National Guard Climbing Wall, Live bands and a beer/wine tent on Saturday. There is no admission fee to the Scenic Drive Festival. Birmingham
· NEW! Millard’s Turtle Farm Special Open House (16580 Linden Ave., Keosauqua) Tour one of the largest Turtle Farms in the Midwest! 9am-4pm daily, no admission fee.
· The Friends of Birmingham will host a Trash and Treasure Sale of garage sale type items in the City Park. Other vendors will be offering antiques and collectibles, garage sale items, jewelry, kettle corn, gourds and decorated pumpkins, a display of small engines, weather permitting. Show hours on Saturday are 8 am-5 pm and Sunday 8 am-4 pm.
· The Rebekah Circle will have a bake sale from 8:00 to 10:00 Saturday morning in the City Park.
· The local Lions Club will serve lunch on Saturday and Sunday at the new shelterhouse in the City Park.
Cantril
NEW! Wickfield Farm Sales Pavilion (Round Barn) at 17451 260th St. will have a Special Open House with Colorful tales of Frank Silvers vision of his pure bred Hampshire hog farm and sales business as told by local historians, barn quilts by Max Wellborn, special edition Wickfield Farm Sales Pavilion DVD on display & for sale. 3rd Annual Quilt Show will be held at the Bonaparte United Church (5th & Texas St.) from 10a-4p on Saturday and 12-4p on Sunday. Featuring beautiful handmade quilts, wall hangings, runners and toppers. Public voting for “People’s Choice” Award in 5 categories.
Bonaparte Pottery will be open 10am-5pm with archaeological dig-site tours, newly renovated gift shop, and an in-house potter doing demonstrations.
The Sunrise Bakery (31154 210th St., North of Bonaparte on W40) will have a home-cooked Amish buffet from 5p-7:30p on Friday & Saturday. Adults: $10.70, Children ages 5-12: $5.35, Ages under 4” free. Menu includes: Oven-baked Chicken, Meat Loaf, Salisbury steak, mashed Potatoes & Gravy, Green Beans, Cooked cabbage, Fresh Salad bar, Homemade Bread, Pies & Ice Cream. On Sunday, Church Services and the Sonshine Band from 11:30-12:30pm, The Tarnished Brass Band begins at 1:00pm. Eulenspiegel Puppet Show presents “She-roes” from 3-4pm. There is no admission fee to the Riverfront Stage Entertainment.
Keosauqua Fall Festival. Arts, Crafts, Wood Crafts, Food vendors will be set up in the downtown area, Senior Center & in the Roberts Memorial Building (Hwy 1 N.) Vendors open Sat. 9a-5p & Sun. 10a-4p.

The Keosauqua Lions Club will serve all you can eat pancake, sausage & ham breakfast from 7a-10a. Tator Ribbons, Tenderloins, Chicken Strips, Corn Dogs, French Fries, Chili Cheese Fries and NEW Catfish Nuggets will be served beginning at 9a. in the Keosauqua City Park under the big tent.
Cattlemen’s BBQ Lunch begins at 11am in the Keosauqua City Park.

Sunday Only: The 9th Annual Lacey Keosauqua Fall Run & Trail Walk. A 5K, 10K or 2 Mile Trail Walk. Race begins at 9am. Entry Fees: Pre-registration (by 10/7/15) $15, Walk-up $20, & Family $50. Guided tours of the historic Mormon Graves at Richardson’s Point. Saturday & Sunday 9a-5p. The informative guide will share his knowledge of the events leading up to the encampment at Richardsons Point, where the first deaths along the Mormon Pioneer Trail in 1846 occurred.
