MOUNT PLEASANT— Get ready to kick the summer off with live music, food, beverages, games and activities for the whole family to enjoy in Central Park of Mount Pleasant! The Mount Pleasant Area Chamber of Commerce (MPACC) is excited to roll out the first of three Rock Around the Block community events for the summer of 2015 on Friday, June 19.

Each event will start at 5:30 pm with the opening of food vendors, Budweiser and Pepsi tents and kids activities; the bands take the stage from 6:00-10:00 pm. Bands in the 2015 line-up include: The Snakechasers, local artist Nella Thomas opens for Flash in a Pan, and the Beaker Brothers. These events will take place on the north side of Central Park and are open to all ages at no charge.

The June 19 event will include food from the Henry County Pork Producers. Budweiser beverages will be available for purchase to those 21 years of age or older. There will be music by the Snakechasers, a visit from Sweet Mimi the Clown, Dollar Train Rides, various games and prizes, a kiddie pedal pull (weigh-in from 6:00-6:30 pm) and farm machinery on display,

The June 19 event would not be possible without the help of our premier sponsor, Henry County Farm Bureau. Other contributors are the Ag. Lenders from Community 1st Credit Union, Farm Credit Services of America, Pilot Grove Savings Bank, Two Rivers Bank & Trust, US Bank and Wayland State Bank. We would like to thank the city of Mount Pleasant and the committee members working many hours to coordinate the summer concert series.

So grab your co-workers, family members and friends, load up those lawn chairs and blankets and head to downtown Mount Pleasant on the Friday evenings of June 19, July 24 and August 21 to enjoy the summer season with live entertainment and great company!
