Both teams are 2-2 overall, Assumption has won 2 district games already with wins over Ft. Madison and Keokuk. Mt. Pleasant has a district win over Keokuk, and are coming off a non district win over Chariton last Friday night when they scored a 57-33 win. Assumption has moved to Class 3A after spending a number of years playing in the Class 4A Mississippi Athletic Conference where they were a perennial power and playoff qualifier. Coach Shawn Striegel of the Panthers says his team has been concentrating this week on playing the game, not the name. Wade King, coach of Assumption is concerned with the Panthers size in the offensive and defensive lines and hopes his team can move them around so his teams strong running game can continue.
