Meet Zoe, also known as ZoZo, a very outgoing and friendly young girl who is passionate about school, soccer and playing outside with her friends. Zoe, the epiphany of any 8 year old, can’t wait to get her hands on french fries or pizza. She loves Disney movies, Sponge Bob Square Pants and playing Mario Cart on her Wii. She is a huge fan of the color pink and collects anything that has a peace sign or butterfly on it. Zoe loves spending time with her family, especially when they go shopping or out to eat together.
Zoe was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes after suffering from countless headaches and unexplained weight loss. This disease is a chronic condition in which the pancreas produces little or no insulin, a hormone needed to allow sugar to enter cells to produce energy. Type 1 diabetes can affect major organs in your body, including heart, blood vessels, nerves, eyes and kidneys. Zoe has to have daily injections as well as constantly monitor her blood levels. Although this has been a major transition in her life, Zoe maintains a welcoming demeanor and upbeat attitude.
When asked why she wanted a bedroom makeover, Zoe said “I want to be surrounded by butterflies, peace symbols and the colors pink and purple!”
