MANILA, Philippines – Kapamilya prized actor John Lloyd Cruz has finally broken his silence about his alleged teenage daughter studying at the University of the Philippines Los Banos (UPLB).
In his interview with Philippine Showbiz Republic, Cruz dispelled rumors tagging him as the father of a 16-year-old UPLB student. Cruz said it was quite impossible for him to conceive a child at the age of 15.
He also challenged the ones involved to face him and show their evidence about their allegations against him.
“Parang malabo namang mangyari ‘yun. Pero ‘yun nga, kung seryoso sila sa allegations nila, humarap sila..kasi feeling ko, tine-test lang ‘yung ano..kung papatulan ba o hindi.” ( It’s quite impossible for that to happen. But if they are serious about their allegations, they should face me. I feel that they are just testing if I will entertain the issue or not.)
Furthermore, Cruz claimed that he has a better understanding about having a child after he witnessed his two brothers’ experiences. According to Cruz, they were products of early marriage.
The Alleged Daughter’s Claims
In a series of posts in The Elbi Files, a Facebook page for UPLB students, an anonymous user revealed she is the daughter of a Kapamilya star.
Although she did not mention any names in her posts, many netizens believe she is referring to John Lloyd Cruz because of the clues she gave.
On December 8, 2013, she wrote:
Anak ako ng isang kapamilya star, at na discover ito nung prof ko nung Friday.”- anakngtagatabingilog, CAS, 201*
A month ago, the anonymous user posted her sentiments, giving netizens more clues about her father’s identity. In her post, she said that she is hoping that her father will be proud of her since she’s an UPCAT passer.

In the most recent post of the alleged daughter on October 11, she said her father brought her to his Los Angeles tour but introduced her as his niece.

The alleged daughter’s claims may be juicy but it does not seem credible without solid evidence.
One thing is for sure. If the alleged daughter accepts Cruz’ challenge to come out in the open, it will be the start of another saga in the controversial actor’s life.
