Backblaze online backup has continuously and safely backed up over 45,000,000 GB of photos, music, movies, documents, and other valuable files from PC and Mac computers to the cloud, ensuring they are recoverable when faced with data loss or computer theft. Backblaze Mobile enables customers to access, view and download files that are stored in the Backblaze backup of their PC, Mac or external hard drive(s) to their iPhones – precisely in the moment they need them.
“I’ve been looking for a new apartment lately and last week while traveling the perfect place came online, but I didn’t have all of my application information readily available and getting my application in quickly was a priority. Fortunately, I remembered Backblaze and was able to find the files I needed and download them on-the-go,” says Tony Mignot, Backblaze customer.
How Backblaze Mobile works
When using Backblaze online backup, all data is automatically backed up from customer Mac and PC computers to the cloud. Upon installing Backblaze Mobile from the App Store and signing in, a customer can:
See all PC and Mac computers they currently back up.
Select files from these computers and their external hard drives.
View and download these photos, songs, movies, and other documents.
Access previous versions of these files
Print, text, email, post to Facebook and Twitter or save files to the camera roll.
Since Backblaze has all the data in the cloud, Backblaze Mobile users can access their files even if their computer is offline or turned off.
“Having restored 2.5 billion files for our customers, we found that 22% of recoveries contained a single file and realized customers were using Backblaze to access their files remotely,” says Gleb Budman, CEO of Backblaze. “Backblaze Mobile now provides an instant way to easily access that data from your iPhone.”

Backblaze is showcasing its new mobile app at this week’s Macworld/iWorld 2013, taking place January 31-February 2 in the Appalooza showcase at the Moscone West conference center in San Francisco.
