2013 has wrapped up and it was a big year for me. Looking back, there are a lot of great things that happened, here are some of my favorite things.

Favorite Song: Parmalee’s “Carolina”. I loved this song from the first time I heard it.

There were a ton of great songs this year, but this tops the list and it might be because it’s been No. 1 for a couple weeks and it’s fresh in my mind.

Worthy competitors are also “Slow Me Down” by Sara Evans, “Don’t Ya” by Brett Eldredge, “Mama’s Broken Heart” by Miranda Lambert, “Two Black Cadillacs” by Carrie Underwood, “Crash My Party” by Luke Bryan and “Better Dig Two” by The Band Perry.

Favorite CD: Luke Bryan “Crash My Party”

Luke did a great job with this CD. My favorite song off the album is “Play It Again”. Love, love, love that song! Other good CDs that came out this year include: Brett Eldredge “Bring You Back”, Chris Young “A.M.”, Cassadee Pope “Frame By Frame” and Parmalee “Feels Like Carolina”.

Favorite TV Show: I have a lot of old favorites that I’ve watched for a couple of seasons like “Mike & Molly”, “Parenthood”, and “Nashville”, but the show I got hooked on this year is “Duck Dynasty”. I’m a little late on this trend, but I’m totally addicted now. I think those bearded brothers are hilarious! Jase and Missy are my favorite. Plus I love that every episode ends with the family all together.

Favorite Movie: “Catching Fire” I’m a big fan of The Hunger Games. I’ve read all the books and so far I’ve seen as the movies. I think the second movie which just came out about a month ago is the best. I would even go as far as saying it’s better than the book. You should definitely see it even if you haven’t read the books.

Favorite  Book: Yes I was part of the band wagon and read all three 50 Shades of Grey. I don’t know how they’re going to make a movie out of that, but I’ll definitely go see it.

Favorite Trip: The Frogmen show was lucky enough to go to New York for Luke Bryan’s album release. I’ve been to New York once before and fell in love. Now throw Luke Bryan in the mix and it was a win-win situation for me. We got to interview Luke about his new CD, plus see a Luke concert and a private show by Jennifer Nettles featuring her new solo music. We were only in New York for a couple of days, but it was awesome. We stayed at a hotel just minutes away from Times Square, so every night we walked through New York City. I was lucky enough to meet some amazing people from other radio stations across the country. It was an amazing trip.

Favorite K-Frog Event: “Money Mondays” at Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar & Grill. I love football and gambling, so this event is awesome for me. We place bets with fake K-Frog Cash on the Monday night game, commercials, and people inside the bar. Then at the end we raffle off some great prizes. This year some of our top prizes included a 50″ TV, iPad Mini, $200 gift cards, and so much more. Fingers crossed we’ll do this again! I lost a bet (below), otherwise I’m a Jaguars fan!

Favorite Concert: Kenny Chesney’s “No Shoes Nation” tour at Angel’s Stadium. This concert was awesome! I love the Eli Young Band and to see them open on such a beautiful day was awesome. Plus, I had never really been a big Eric Church fan, until I saw him in concert. He is a great performer! Then of course Kenny came out and it was a total party. It was a great show on a great day. So much fun!

Favorite Sports Moment: I went to the Dodgers last home game during the post season. They won this game, but went on to lose to the Cardinals The energy at Dodger stadium was incredible and the Dodgers played really well. It was probably one of the coolest sports moments I’ve witnessed ever.

Favorite Old Tradition Continued in 2013: Every year my best friend, Kristin, and I along with our better halves go to the L.A. County Fair. Of course our yearly tradition starts with a little bit of partying. Kristin and I head off to go wine tasting while our boys go to get some beers. After that the night is on! It’s on to shopping and playing games. I look forward to this every year.

Favorite New Tradition: Now that I’m married and in my own house, my husband and I are celebrating our first Christmas as Mr. and Mrs. Christmas is my favorite time of the year, so I was totally excited to celebrate it with my hubby. We got our Christmas tree on our 3 month anniversary (I know that’s totally cheesy, but it wasn’t planned). We had to have a real tree, because I love that smell. When it came to decorating, our tree is totally us. We have leopard print ornaments for me and Ninja Turtle ornaments for him. We woke up early the next morning after getting our tree to decorate. We had Christmas music blaring and football on the TV. With mimosas in hand we started our Christmas tradition of decorating our tree.

Favorite Moment: Hands down my favorite moment of 2013 was my wedding. I was surrounded by my loving family and friends and got to marry my best friend. Everyone made our wedding day so special. Our ceremony might not have been perfect, but it was totally us and amazing. It’s going to take a lot to top 2013.
