NORMAN, Okla. – While a lot of OU fans will be heading to Norman this weekend, police are warning drivers about a major parking problem.

During the first two OU home football games this season, authorities say 60 cars were impounded for illegally parking on private property.

Officers say the property owners are the ones who had the vehicles impounded, but Norman police were also responsible for impounding 30 other cars.

Authorities say those vehicles were impounded for yellow curb violations.

Police are warning drivers to be careful when parking near the stadium and adjacent to the railroad tracks.

They say many of those areas are private property.

The railroad says their property extends 50 feet from the center-line to either side of the tracks.

They warn that they can and will tow cars parked in their right of way.
