**Description and Responsibilities** **:**

The Materials Manager will work under the direction of the Director of Supply Chain and the Plant Manager to help meet corporate, business unit, and department objectives and goals.

The Materials Manager is responsible for driving efficiencies for Kerry by maintaining a balanced schedule that considers both product costs and plant utilization.

They also support the business by preparing, analyzing, monitoring and reporting on performance metrics. Ensuring data accuracy and developing tools to effectively communicate information are keys to the position. The individual must have the ability to multitask, analyze, troubleshoot, make recommendations, and implement solutions within the business.

**Essential duties and responsibilities:**

+ Support Business Objectives

+ Daily activities

+ Develop a Capacity plan for work centers under their responsibility

+ Managing the capacity plan and master schedule to balance asset utilization across multiple work centers and sites

+ Work with plant schedulers to utilize the master schedule to re-prioritize the production

+ Drive proper maintenance of system parameters and information feeding into the capacity model by working with the material managers.

+ Strategic Activities

+ Collaborate with all team members to share knowledge

+ For example, new business opportunities

+ Maintain a rolling master schedule for 9-12 months of production

+ Assign proper work center and routing to new items

+ Work with plant operations teams to meet inventory targets while maintaining customer service levels

+ Actively participate in technical, business, and professional development

+ Promote change in a positive manner

+ Run the S&OP meetings for the Dry Blending technology

+ Project work

+ Support acquisition/integration projects within their technology

+ Support process and product optimization

+ Analysis

+ Present long term capacity plan to VP of operations and Director of Supply Chain monthly

+ Aid in the development and monitoring of performance metrics

+ Produce capacity reports monthly and work with material managers to review

+ Produce Master Schedule reports weekly and review any exceptions with material managers

**Qualifications** **:**

+ Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from a four-year college or university in Accounting, Applied Economics, Finance, Quantitative Business Analysis, Supply Chain, Business Operations Management or related field of study. Preference will be given to candidates with a history of academic excellence, manifested by high grade point average and/or faculty recommendation.

+ Advanced analytical, planning and problem-solving abilities.

+ Inquisitive nature that enjoys problem-solving and identifying business improvements.

+ Must be detail oriented and able to work in a fast moving, demanding environment.

+ Ability and willingness to grow and develop beyond current position.

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills to build strong interpersonal relationships at all levels of the organization.

+ Supervisory experience or hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment is preferred.

+ Travel to Kerry facilities, nationwide
