Well lovely people, the award season train continued to steam forward last night with the 58th Annual Grammy Awards. It was filled with music, mash-ups, & inspirational messages…& the show was jam packed with juicy action!! Let us now journey through all the fantastic musical mayhem now, shall we?

WITHOUT FURTHER ADUE, I GIVE YOU (in particular order) MY TOP 6 BEST DRESSED LADIES OF MUSIC’S BIGGEST NIGHT!

Taylor Swift in Atelier Versace // Let’s first start with the fact that we have come so far on the red carpet with Queen Taylor. From cowboy boots to crop tops…..HUZZAH!! This look was fresh, colorful, & modern…topped off with the ABSOLUTELY perfect Anna Wintour inspired bob. This also helped me create my new favorite hashtag: #HotPantsAndATrainLife

Zendaya in Dsquared2 // There is literally not a look this girl cannot pull off. She is my new favorite fashion chameleon. The Bowie inspired mullet was quirky & playful, but it was the fantastic tailoring & sophistication of the Canadian Dsquared2 duo’s menswear fueled tux that landed her at the top of the heap!

Selena Gomez in Calvin Klein // Watching the style evolution of Selena Gomez is extremely akin to the first 10 minutes of the “Lion King.” It builds & builds until finally we can present this couture clad baby at the top of pride pock (if you think about it, the metaphor totally works). The mermaid sequin gown in the PERFECT shade of blue, matched with the clever, yet sensual cut-outs, made another gazelle like stride in the more mature direction Gomez has been heading in recent years.

Carrie Underwood in Nicolas Jebran // There is one thing that must be said before any other: Carrie Underwood’s legs are my new workout inspiration. They’re unreal. Are they insured? Other than that, the first lady of country music looked polished & elegant from the left, & gave more leg & thigh than KFC from the right. She looked sexy, chic, and powerful.

Lady Gaga in Custom Marc Jacobs // Everyone say what you want to say, but when you come to the Grammy’s you expect some eleganza and “Mother Monster” delivered 100%. Never one to stray from her themes, Lady Gaga gave us an updated fully feminine David Bowie vibe that could not be beat. Definitely a wild card, but always a buzzword, Gaga gave us exactly what we wanted from the Grammy red carpet: A SHOW STOPPING MOMENT!!

Ellie Goulding in Stella McCartney // This one took me a minute to fall in love with, but once she turned to the side, I rose to my feet in applause (please see Emoji’s in photo for my exact realtime reaction.) One of the night’s big fashion winners for me, Ellie gave us sexy, blush toned simplicity with the perfect metallic finish.

AND LIKE EVERY AWARD SHOW, THERE WERE A FEW SELECT LADIES WHO DECIDED TO GROUP TEXT ABOUT WHAT THEY WERE GOING TO WEAR… THUSLY, CREATING A FEW KEY TRENDS OF THE NIGHT.

BACK TO BLACK: No red carpet is complete without the perfect bevy of LBD’s. From cut-outs, to embellishments, black reigned supreme.

POPS OF PANTONE: My favorite gowns are always the ones that pop with color and energy. No matter the color or hemline, bright hues always enhance the wearer and make my little fashion heart take flight (woosh… that was gay).

TWINKLE TWINKLE LITTLE STAR: When one plays word association with Grammy’s red carpet, one of the first things that comes to mind is (not JLo’s naked dress) sequins! The signature style of rock & roll glam, these ladies shined bright & stole the carpet.

WE WOULD BE REMISS TO LEAVE OUT THE BEST DRESSED FELLAS HERE AS WELL. TURNING UP THE FASHION VOLUME SEEMED TO BE THE NAME OF THE GAME FOR THESE MUSICAL MEN.

AND NOW LADIES AND GENTS (OR LETS BE HONEST… JUST MY MOM), I GIVE YOU THE “REEDIE AWARDS: GRAMMY EDITION”

Best Mix of Vocal Chords: Ellie Goulding & Andra Day. One of the best things about the Grammy’s is when they have 2 seemingly unconnected artists mash-up. This one was a complete knock out…like, I kind of need to hear them sing “Colors of the Wind,” like, right now.

Best Curve Ball: Demi Lovato. What in the freakin heck was that, man?!!? We all know Demi is gorgeous & pop music’s anti-princess, but when she full on belted Lionel Richie’s “Hello,” I had to call life alert, because I had fallen down & was unable to get up. AMAZING!!!

Best Transformation: Lady Gaga into David Bowie. From the cool facial magic (thanks Intel!), to the magical moving keyboard, she slayed 10 of Bowie’s biggest hits & brought the crowd to it’s feet with her always line pushing performance style.

Best Speech: WE HAVE A TIE! Meghan Trainer & Taylor Swift. Meghan’s adorable & genuine “I’m sorry, I have to go cry now” confession was so precious! But finally hearing Taylor tell off her haters (hi, Yeezy!) in the most professional & lady-like of ways, was everything.

Best Use of Beyonce: ANY USE OF BEYONCE. After last minute cancellations from Rihanna & Lauren Hill, Queen Bey stepped up & was added as a last minute presenter for Record of the Year. Literally floating in a white goddess gown, she got us all in FORMATION by simply being Beyonce. Bow down one & all!!

And with the final glitter cannon shot at the Grammy’s (we’re looking at you, Pitbull), we are left with only the big enchilada of award season red carpet fashion remaining…The 2016 Oscars!! See everyone February 28th for the 88th Annual Academy Awards!
