Sunday May 11, 2014 - Budalangi Member of Parliament, Ababu Namwamba, has called on the Government of President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy, William Ruto, to increase the security detail of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga three times both in the US and when he returns to Kenya.
This follows claims by Oburu Odinga that President Uhuru Kenyatta and his colleagues in East Africa want to assassinate Raila Odinga for political reasons.
He claimed that the plan by the East African Presidents led by Uhuru Kenyatta is to see Raila Odinga return to Kenya from the US in a coffin.
However, speaking yesterday, Namwamba challenged Uhuru/ Ruto to boost Raila Odinga’s security to ensure nothing bad happens to him if they ever want peace in this country, otherwise they will hate the days they were born.
He expressed optimism that Uhuru and Ruto will listen and act fast to ensure Raila is safe in the US and when he returns to Kenya for their own good.
“I want to believe Raila Odinga is safe wherever he is and that Uhuru/ Ruto’s Government will ensure his safety when he returns”, said Namwamba.
