Keele University’s award-winning student radio station, KUBE Radio, is proud to announce the return of their Big Charity Broadcast, this year the time period has been extended to 48 hours and will run from 26 to 28 May.
The aim of this event is to raise as much money as possible for charity over a 48-hour period in conjunction with Keele University Students’ Union.
KUBE Radio has challenged two of their most popular presenters, Daniel Chorley and Maddie Faiers, to host the broadcast. This marathon challenge will take place with no breaks and no sleep, with all proceeds going to The Lullaby Trust (Registered Charity Number: 262191).
As well as being one of the biggest annual events for KUBE Radio, the 48 Hour Charity Broadcast is also one of the most highly anticipated events of the year for KUBE members and the student body of Keele University.
KUBE Radio and Keele University Students’ Union are set to take over the outside of the Students' Union Building with stalls, dancers, tarot readings, summer fayre games and live music throughout the day to give the event a real carnival feel. Members of the public are invited to attend the bank holiday event, which is free to enter.
Listeners will also be able to tune into the broadcast via the Internet, and follow the events via our website which will be updated constantly throughout the event.
"The annual 48 Hour Charity Broadcast is brilliant because it unites all the KUBE members in a joint cause: to raise as much money as possible for charity," said Megan Jones, KUBE Station Manager. "It’s also a brilliant day for Keele students and the general public as well and a real celebration of the start of summer (hopefully!)."
KUBE Radio has many giveaways and prizes for lucky listeners to get their hands on. For more information, see the KUBE Radio website. The marathon broadcast kicks off at 12pm on Sunday the 26th of May on www.kuberadio.com
