MWR Technician/ Sports Fitness

:

Coordinates and implements the MWR mission program at a specific facility. Provides exercise guidance, testing, prescription, and supervision to MWR users and teaches group exercise classes. Assists with health program delivery. Maintains monthly health bulletin boards and educational materials. Job tasks, correctly performed, have minimal impact upon the viability of the organization. Error is readily ascertainable and can be corrected. Skills are typically acquired through completion of high school and 2

years of experience involving the coordination of organized team sports, recreational club activities, and social event scheduling. MWR Armed Forces experience and some college course work is preferred. CPR and first aid certification is preferred.

Additional Duties:

Assists in the set-up/tear-down, clean up and conducting events for facility reservations, special fitness /sports events, Leagues and recreation activities. Performs routine facility inspections, monitors safety, damage to facility or MWR equipment. Manage and conducts MWR facility property inventory monthly, conducts patronage count and submits daily Sitreps status reports. Attends meetings and on the job trainings when required. Ensure accountability of all staff during work shift and shares facility upkeep and assigned duties with the HCN workforce. Submits requests for work orders, basic maintenance or IT technical support as needed.

Must be able to have knowledge and skill and can conduct Group exercise fitness classes (required per PWS).

Assists Fitness Equipment Maintenance Technician to conduct PM’s and perform repairs on damaged equipment / Performs TI on FWT GFE equipment/makes recommendations for new procurement to MWR Fitness Director.

Assists Fitness Director in receipt of GFE property and supplies and performs installation of new fitness equipment/ bikes/ other Outdoor equipment. (required per PWS)

Interface daily with Military patrons for scheduling facilities court reservations.

Must be able to assist patrons in the safe use of all fitness equipment.

Minimum Skills:

1. Current Group Fitness Instructor Certification in Aerobics/Weight training or Yoga preferred: Certification from ACE, Cooper Institute, ISSA, IFPA Fitness)

2. Customer Service Training

3. Current CPR/First Aid AED

4. Life Fitness Equipment Repair/ or Electronic Certification /Training

5. Must have minimum 1 years Electronics Repair or Fitness Cardio/ Equipment Repair Experience

6. Must be able to work independently, making sound decisions, have the ability to instruct patrons safety in the proper use of fitness equipment orientation.
