Acacia Mining seeks to appoint a dedicated, self motivated and highly organized Crime Operator, Mechanical Fitters, Condition Monitoring Technician, Process Plant Electrician, and Process Plant Maintenance Data Clerk for its Buzwagi Gold Mine. Below are the details for the openings

JOB TITLE: CRANE OPERATOR - (1 Post)

Reporting Line: Cranes and Rigging First Line Leader
Rotational Status: 14 days on, 7 days off
Location: Buzwagi Gold Mine; Kahama District; Shinyanga Region

KEY RESULT AREAS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Ensure that works comply with Tanzanian Mining (safe working) Regulations and the Acacia PLC Buzwagi Health, safety and Environmental site requirements
• Ensure that works are performed to the approved Standards Operating Procedures (SOP) and Field Level Risk Assessments are undertaken and recorded prior to the commencement of the works
• Carry out and record regular routine inspections of all lifting equipment and slings
• Ensure crane and equipment is kept in a neat condition at all times
• Be pro-active in all aspects of operational safety, efficient utilization of the resources and encourage teamwork
• Any other duties that may be assigned to fulfill the overall business objective

PROFESSIONAL AND INTERPERSONAL DETAILS
Education
• Trade test qualification in rigging or ropes man from the recognized institution
• Must have passed some form of certification in connection with rigging or crane driving

Experience
• A minimum of 3 years working experience
• Experience in operating of Rough Terrain or Truck mounted hydraulic cranes
• Experience in the servicing of cranes and lifting equipment and all associated equipment will be an added advantage
• Knowledge and working experience of mobile cranes
• Experience and ability to read and interpreting load charts and the LMI in cranes
• Experience in Mining industry will be an added advantages
• Able to drive and hold a Tanzanian driving license

JOB TITLE: MECHANICAL FITTERS – (2 Posts)
Reporting Line: Mechanical First Line Leader
Rotational Status: 6 weeks on, 3 weeks off
Location: Buzwagi Gold Mine; kahama District; Shinyanga Region

KEY RESULT AREAS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Ensure total adherence to all Safety, Occupational Health and Environmental Policies of PML, as well as other policies, procedures and guidelines
• Carry out mechanical repair and preventative maintenance to maintain Process Plant equipment in a safe and efficient manner to achieve production and cost targets
• Ensure that maintenance practices result in maximum mill availability. Meeting or exceeding planned mill availability is a key Performance Indicator
• Complete assigned work in a timely manner with minimum supervision and to an internationally acceptable standard
• Keep workplace in a safe working condition and carry out mechanical work in safe professional and efficient manner
• Provide accurate and timely feedback to Mechanical First Line Leader on conditions that may affect functionality of equipment
• To carry out troubleshooting, fault finding and corrective maintenance in order to solve unplanned equipment unavailability events
• Ensure First Line Leaders and all stakeholders are kept informed on equipment availability status
• Ensure the Oracle maintenance management system is utilized as required by the Mechanical First Line Leaders
• Actively participate in training activities to gain new skills, develop full potential and assume increasing accountability
• Under the direction of the Mechanical First Line leader, provide appropriate on - the-job training and coaching to less experience personnel
• Follow safe work Procedures and other maintenance procedures
• Be proactive in all aspects of process Plant security to prevent and eliminate theft and fraud
• Attend regular safety meetings
• Ensure no disruption to work due to industrial relations issues
• Carry out other duties as assigned by the mechanical First Line Leader

PROFESSIONAL AND INTERPERSONAL DETAILS
Education
• FTC/Trade test Grade 1 in Mechanical discipline

Experience
• 2 years practical work experience in maintenance
• Previous maintenance experience in industrialized plant is beneficial
• Previous skills in maintenance practices and Mechanical knowledge, Manual dexterity

JOB TITLE: CONDITION MONITORING TECHNICIAN – (1 Post)
Reporting Line: Reliability Section Leader
Rotational Status: 6 weeks on, 3 week off
Location: Buzwagi Gold Mine; Kahama District; Shinyanga Region

KEY RESULT AREAS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Carries out routine condition monitoring tasks on all the rotating equipment by data collection using advanced portable data collectors and other tools as per established schedule and plant requirements
• Carries out extensive analysis on the vibration, thick less, & thermograph test & other data collected to diagnose/troubleshoot rotating machinery problems and recommend remedial measures
• Reports any major changes in equipment condition to the condition monitoring engineer and maintain data in the computerized system and produces regular reports
• Assist Condition Monitoring Engineer in technical reports preparation by providing all relevant vibration plots & process data ‘
• Archive data for history and retrieval when required
• Maintains equipment files that contain equipment datasheet, maintenance history etc
• Maintains all condition monitoring tools/instruments as per the guidelines
• Maintains various soft-wares used in the mine and also responsible for reliability and availability of these systems (FLIR Quick Report, SKF @PTITUDE ANALYSIS)
• Building of condition monitoring database in the software, scheduling routes for new units/Plants as situation arises
• Assist in arranging for Lube oil analysis of critical rotating, mine heavy mobile equipment, drill rigs, dewatering pumps and analyze /recommend remedial measures from the reports
• Actively participate in Reliability improvement Programs and Root Cause failure Analysis process
• Propose improvements to enhance the reliability & availability of rotating & mine heavy mobile equipment
• Participates in plant turnaround activities as and when requested by the direct supervisor
• Actively works in CMMS systems like PRONTO/FLOR CENRTIC to get the equipment overhauls history, PM Plans etc
• Perform the job as per Acacia Mining PLC Standard established HSE procedures and guidelines

PROFESSIONAL AND INTERPERSONAL DETAILS
Education
• Higher Diploma or equivalent in Engineering (Mechanical or Instrumentation) from the accredited Higher Learning Institution

Experience
• At least six (6) years working experience as Mechanical technician or Reliability Technician
• Practical knowledge of Vibration Analysis, Thermal Imaging, Oil Analysis, and Knowledge in laser Alignment would be an added advantage
• Knowledge of show/medium/high speed complex rotating equipment and their maintenance techniques
• Sound knowledge of mining safety regulations and best practice

JOB TITLE: PROCESS PLANT ELECTRICIAN – (1 Post)
Reporting Line: Process Plant Electrical First Line Leader
Rotational status: 6 weeks on, 3 weeks off

KEY RESULT AREAS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Ensure total adherence to all Safety, Occupational Health and Environmental Policies of PML, as well as other policies, procedures and guidelines
• Carry out electrical repair and preventative maintenance to maintain Process Plant equipment in a safe and efficient manner to achieve production and cost targets
• Ensure that electrical maintenance practices result in maximum mill availability. Meeting or exceeding planned mill availability is a key Performance indicator
• Complete required testing and safety checks on specifies electrical equipment
• Provide accurate and timely feedback to your Supervisor of conditions that may affect functionality of equipment
• Carry out troubleshooting, fault finding and corrective maintenance in order to solve unplanned equipment unavailability events
• Ensure Supervisors and all stakeholders are kept informed on equipment availability status
• Under the direction of the electrical Supervisor, provide appropriate on-the-job training and coaching to less experience personnel
• Follow safe work procedures and other maintenance procedures
• Be proactive in all aspect of Process Plant security to prevent and eliminate theft and fraud

Education
• Trade test qualification in electrical from recognized institution

Experience and skills
• Two (2) years practical work experience in electrical maintenance
• Previous maintenance experience in industrialized plant is beneficial
• Practical skills in maintenance practices and electrical knowledge

JOB TITLE: PROCESS PLANT MAINTENANCE DATA CLERK (1 Post)
Reporting Line: Process Plant Maintenance Planner
Rotational Status: 14 days on, 7 days off
Location: Buzwagi Gold Mine; Kahama District; shinyanga Region

KEY RESULT AREAS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Ensure total adherence to all Safety, Occupational Health and Environmental Policies, as well as other policies procedures and guidelines
• Prepare accurate and timely reports and data for the Process Plant Maintenance
• Ensure accurate and timely Maintenance Operations, Reagents and concentrates accounting
• Assist process Maintenance Section with Maintenance, work Orders and Modification Requests
• Co-ordinates general administrative and Clerical functions for the Process Plant Maintenance section
• Assist Process Maintenance with external communications
• Assist Process Maintenance with preparing presentations
• Be proactive in all aspects of process Plant security to prevent and eliminate theft and fraud
• Continually review every aspect of the Process Plant Maintenance to ensure that opportunities to add value and enhance shareholder wealth are identified
• Ensure no disruption to work due to industrial relations issues
• Ensure adherence to all Acacia policies and procedures
• Carry out any other relevant duties as assigned by the Supervisor

PROFESIONAL AND INTERPERSONAL DETAILS
Education
• Advanced Certificates of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE)

Experience and Skills
• Two (2) years practical work experience; including previous work experience in the mining industry or secretarial work is desirable.
• Strong communication skills (English and Kiswahili)
• Safety awareness, initiative resourcefulness, Good analytical skills, Good organizational and time management skills, High level of Interpersonal skills
• Good computer skills (excel, word, outlook, power point)
