Sooo, dann komm ich nun auch endlich mal zum Berichten. Mittlerweile konntet ihr auf einigen Blogs Eindrücke von der Fatty Fashion Week 2014 (danke Lina für diesen super Titel!) lesen… einige sind sehr positiv, einige eher ernüchternd (hier kann ich euch Katrins Bericht empfehlen) ausgefallen. Und mein Empfinden? Irgendwo dazwischen. Klar, die Plus Size Szene in Deutschland könnte so viel weiter sein – am liebsten irgendwo, wo es gar keine Grenzen zwischen Plus Size und “regulären” Linien mehr gäbe und tolle Mode in jeder Größe angeboten werden würde – aber es tut sich was! Und das finde ich gut.

Sooo, I finally found the time to write about the Curvy is Sexy plus size trade show I visited in Berlin two weeks ago. In the meantime you could already see impressions of the Fatty Fashion Week 2014 (thanks Lina for this much better fitting title!) on other blogs… some are very positive, some are rather sobering. And my feeling? Somewhere in between. Sure, the plus size scene in Germany could be so much more – preferably somewhere where there were no boundaries between plus-size and “regular” lines and more great fashion would be offered in any size – but at least there is some movement! And I think that’s good.

Sonja, Lina, Michelle und ich sind bereits am Montag in Berlin angekommen und hatten sehr viel Zeit, uns gemeinsam in unsere “Oh ich bin ja so gespannt auf morgen”-Vorfreude hineinzusteigern. Ich glaub, zu den Mädels muss ich gar nicht mehr viel sagen, oder? Große Liebe jedenfalls! ♥

Fand ich nicht so gut
Den Namen, örgs! Curvy ist einfach kein Synonym für Plus Size, und mir missfällt der Gedanke, dass ich nur mit meiner Figur zufrieden sein darf, wenn irgendwer sie als sexy empfindet. Außerdem wird dieser Satz oft in einem Zusammenhang verwendet, der dann schlanke, gerade gebaute Menschen angreift – auch nicht der richtige Weg!
Diese Hitze! Hätte irgendeine der anwesenden Firmen Fächer bedruckt und sie kostenlos unter die Leute gebracht, wäre ihr Logo auf so ziemlich jedem Bild zu sehen gewesen. Vielleicht ja ein guter Tipp für die nächste Messe im Sommer?
Sehr schmale Models. Ich weiß schon, dass es eben Sample-Größen gibt und Plus Size Modeling irgendwo bei Größe 40/42 anfängt… aber an ein paar dickeren Models hätte ich die Kleidungsstücke schon gerne gesehen.
3/4-Hosen, Zipfeltuniken, “freche” farbenfrohe Prints – eben diese typischen Teile, die einem in den Übergrößengeschäften immer wieder vorgesetzt werden. Davon gab es einfach so unglaublich viel… aber wie ich gehört habe, verkauft sich sowas wohl am besten. Schade!
Standpersonal, das mir etwas von figurschmeichelnden Teilen und kaschierenden Kleidungsstücken erzählte. Neue Idee: Schmeichelt doch mal mir und geht nicht davon aus, dass ich meinen Körper verstecken möchte?!

What I didn’t like
The name, uah! Curvy is simply not a synonym for plus size, and I do not like the idea that you can only be happy with your body if anyone out there thinks you’resexy. In addition, this phrase is often used in a context, attacking slim, straight-built people – not the right way!
This heat! Had one of the companies present printed fans and given them to the people there, their logo would have been seen on just about every picture. Maybe a good tip for the next show in the summer?
Very slim models. I know that there are sample sizes and plus size modeling starts at size 40/42 … but I would have loved to see the clothes on a few bigger girls.
3/4-pants, hiding tunics,”cheeky” colourful prints – all of these typical, boring garments we see in every plus size store. But I’ve heard these are the bestselling items… what a shame!
Stand personnel talking about flattering, concealing garments. New idea: Why don’t you flatter me a little and don’t immediately think that I want to hide my body?!

Fand ich richtig gut
Die riesige Blogger-Wiedersehens- und Kennenlernfreude! Das mit Abstand beste an diesem ganzen Blog-Ding sind einfach die unglaublich tollen Leute, die man dadurch kennenlernt. Noch schöner ist es, diese inspirierenden, wundervollen Frauen auch mal in echt in die Arme nehmen zu können. Manchmal hatte ich das Gefühl, keine 20m in einer halben Stunde gelaufen zu sein, weil ich einfach immer wieder ein neues bekanntes Gesicht entdeckt habe: die liebe Nicole zum Beispiel, Claudia, die extra aus Österreich angereist ist, Jennifer, Lisa, Yvonne und noch so viele mehr… und beim Abendessen auch noch die bezaubernde Tanja und endlich wieder Isabell, Charlotte und Jenny. Ich musste mich manchmal wirklich kneifen, um das alles zu glauben! ♥
Superliebes Standpersonal, das sich Zeit nimmt und einem alles zeigt… Leider keine Selbstverständlichkeit. Bei YOEK (hach, was für süßes deutsch die dort sprachen!) und Ulla Popken habe ich mich besonders herzlich willkommen gefühlt. Mir war übrigens gar nicht klar, dass es bei Ulla Popken auch Schuhe und eine Bio-Linie gibt. Muss ich mir auf jeden Fall mal näher ansehen!
Ein bisschen über den Tellerrand schauen. Ich klicke ja doch immer wieder auf die gleichen Shop-Seiten (hallo Dorothy Perkins, hallo Asos!) und es tut so gut, mal wieder wunderschöne neue Sachen zu entdecken. Drei meiner Lieblinge möchte ich euch mal genauer vorstellen:

What I loved
Huge blogger reunion and meeting joy! By far the best about this wohle blogging thing are the incredibly great people you meet. It’s even better to be able to take these inspiring, wonderful women in your arms in real life. Sometimes I walked less than 20m in half an hour, because I’ve just always found a new familiar face to say hello to: the lovely Nicole, for example, Claudia , who came all the way from Austria, Jennifer, Lisa, Yvonne and so many more… and at dinner also the enchanting Tanja and Isabell, Charlotte and Jenny. I sometimes couldn’t even believe it all! ♥
Super lovely booth staff that took the time and showed us everything. With YOEK and Ulla Popken I felt very welcome. I didn’t even know that there are also shoes and an organic line at Ulla Popken
Getting a little out of my box: I mostly visit the same shops (hello Dorothy Perkins, Asos hello!) all the time. And it feels so good to once again discover wonderful new things! Here are three of my favourites:
Mat

Mat ist ein griechisches Label, das ich vorher noch gar nicht kannte. Es gab wunderschöne Print und süße Details, viel Spitze und Häkelmuster und das ganze strahlte eine richtig mitreißende, sommerliche Leichtigkeit aus. Ich bin sehr gespannt und werde Mat auf jeden Fall im Auge behalten. Einige Teile gibt es bei Navabi, hier könnt ihr euch mal durch die aktuelle Kollektion klicken:

Mat is a Greek label, which I hadn’t heard about before. There were beautiful print and sweet details, lots of lace and crochet and all of it radiated a really fantastic summery lightness. I am very excited and will definitely keep Mat in mind. Some things you can find at Navabi:

Triangle by s.Oliver

Der Stand von Triangle by s.Oliver war der allerschönste! Er wurde offensichtlich mit viel Liebe gestaltet – sind diese Regalelemente nicht einfach wunderschön? Natürlich konnte sich auch die Mode sehen lassen und bietet im Frühjahr/Sommer 2015 unter anderem Leder mit Netzperforation, coole Denim-Teile und weiterhin schwarz/weiß-Prints. Seit ein paar Wochen besitze ich eine Leggings von Triangle und bin sehr begeistert von der Qualität, deshalb werde ich auch dieses Label weiterhin verfolgen.

The booth of Triangle by s.Oliver was the most beautiful! It was obviously designed with great attention – aren’t these shelf elements just beautiful? Of course the fashion was also impressive and offers in spring / summer 2015, among other things, leather with cutouts, cool denim pieces and black / white prints. For a few weeks I have owned leggings by Triangle and I am very impressed with their quality.

Zizzi

Ich glaube, Zizzi ist der große Blogger-Favorit der Curvy is Sexy. Absolut verständlich, denn das sind mit Abstand die spannendsten, stylischsten und innovativsten Kleidungsstücke, die es auf der ganzen Messe zu sehen gab. Es gab einen spannenden Material-Mix, einzigartige, großflächige Prints, abwechslungsreiche Schnitte… ach ich bin einfach begeistert! Auch der Stand war toll, man nahm sich viel Zeit für uns, wir konnten uns mit den #fashionhasnosize-Rahmen fotografieren lassen und es gab sogar noch Eis! Alles richtig gemacht, würde ich sagen.

I think Zizzi was the big blogger favourite at the Curvy is Sexy. Absolutely understandable because these are by far the most exciting, most stylish and innovative clothing that could be seen all over the show. There was an exciting mix of materials, unique, large-scale prints, varied cuts… oh I’m just thrilled! Also, their booth was great, they took plenty of time to talk to us, we could have our photos taken with the #fashionhasnosize frames and there was even ice cream! I’d say: Everything done right.
