Hi Everyone...can you believe it's October already and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog...thank you for joining us for last week's "Powder Power" challenge...we hope you can join us this week too because...

and the theme for this week is...

HALLOWEEN

the Design Team are showcasing Memory Box Products this week...you don't need to use them to join in the challenge but if you have them we would love to see what you do with them.

I created an art journal page where a very Crazy Bird aka Count Spooktacula has a scary encounter with a family of Memory Box Swirling Ghosts in a moonlit Twiggy Tree forest.

I started by applying a coat of Distress Collage Vintage Medium to the page and when it was dry dabbed on Carved Pumpkin Distress Paint with my fingers. When the paint was almost but not quite dry I used a piece of dry kitchen towel to remove a little of the paint and create a bit of texture (the reason I used the Vintage Medium in favour of the clear Matte was simply to reveal a yellowish brown tone instead of the white of the page). I tore strips from the Materialize Stash Paper Pad...fixed to the bottom of the page with the Vintage Distress Collage Medium and rubbed Black Soot Distress Crayon around the edge and lightly on the page to create some depth.

I applied Grit Paste through the negative space from a die cut circle to create a moon and used the Twisted Edge Stencil from Mini Layering Stencil Set 23 with the Black Soot Distress Crayon to create some spooky branches...

I die cut the Twiggy Trees from the Materialize Paper Stash Pad and coloured with the Black Soot Distress Crayon...

stamped my images to check on placement and fixed the trees in place with Vintage Distress Collage Medium...

stamped the spooky mansion from Mini Halloween 5 twice...

I stamped Count Spooktacula and his top hat on Ranger Watercolor Paper, coloured with Black Soot...Carved Pumpkin and Wilted Violet Distress Markers using the Detailer Water Brush, die cut with the matching Thinlits dies...

and fixed him on top of his broomstick.  I used the Picket Fence Distress Crayon to highlight the Twiggy Trees...stamped the sentiments from Mini Halloween randomly over the background and added the "BOO!" sentiment...

I die cut the Swirling Ghosts...created shadows around the edges with Black Soot Distress Ink...added Materialize Design Tape and created splatters with White Gesso and a small paintbrush...

added Small Talk Stickers...

and an Incantation Word Band coloured with Carved Pumpkin Distress Crayon and threaded with Halloween Jute String...
