Office of the Flag bearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Nana Akufo Addo has denied rumour that head of the former’s security, Captain Koda has been picked up for questioning in connection with the arrest of the three arrested South Africans allegedly engaged in activities that threaten the nation’s security.

There are reports on social media that the security boss has been arrested Tuesday evening by operatives of the Bureau of National Investigations.

Deputy General Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress, Koku Anyidoho told Kasapa 102.3 FM Tuesday Morning that he has information that Capt. Koda will be arrested by close of day Tuesday.

“I don’t deal with newspaper reports, I’ve indeed spoken to people who matter and Captain Koda’s name has been mentioned and I know for a fact he ‘ll be picked up for interrogation” he revealed on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.3 FM.

But speaking to Kasapa News Tuesday evening, Eugene Arhin, Press Aide to Nana Akufo Addo said the reports are untrue and must be treated with the contempt that it deserves.

“Captain Koda has not been invited nor picked up, as I speak to you now, he’s seated right beside me.”

The ex-SA officers were picked up at the El-Capitano Hotel where they had been based since arriving in the country early this month, according to a Daily Graphic report.

They were said to be training some young people in various security drills, including unarmed combat, weapon handling, VIP protection techniques, and rapid response manoeuvres.

The paper said although the suspects had initially indicated that they were training the young men for the owner of the hotel, Captain Kwesu Acquah (retd), who is also the owner of Delta Force Security Company Limited, the leader of the group, Major Hazis, was reported to have told interrogators that they were brought in by an unnamed retired military officer to train young men as bodyguards and a rapid response for some politicians and political parties.
