Department of Posts — Office of the Chief Postmaster General, Kerala Postal Circle, is recruiting 179 persons for the posts of “Postal Assistant”, “Sorting Assistant” and “Postal Assistant (Savings Bank Control Organization)”. Interested candidates may collect the application form from the concerned Post Office. Eligibility norms and other criteria in brief is given below—

179 POSTS OF POSTAL ASSISTANT, SORTING ASSISTANT AND POSTAL ASSISTANT (SAVING BANK CONTROL ORGANIZATION) IN DEPARTMENT OF POSTS, OFFICE OF THE CHIEF POSTAL GENERAL – KERALA POSTAL CIRCLE

1. Postal Assistant: 83 Nos. (Gen—45; SC—07; ST—1; OBC—20; Ex-Serviceman—8; PH—2)

2. Sorting Assistant: 69 Nos. (Gen—34; SC—12; ST—1; OBC—13; Ex-Serviceman—7; PH—3)

3. Postal Assistant (Saving Bank Control Organization): 27 Nos. (Gen—14; SC—2; ST—0; OBC—8; Ex-Serviceman—2; PH—1)

N.B: No. of posts is further breaks down into Division/ Unit wise. Refer the Advt. for details.

Qualification Required: Higher Secondary (Class-12) pass with at least 60% of marks with English as a compulsory subject. (55% marks required in case of OBC and 45% in case of SC/ST candidates)

Candidates should have studied local language of the State or Union Territory of the Postal Circle concerned or Hindi as a subject at least in Matriculation or equivalent.

Pay Scale: Rs.5200—Rs.20200 and Grade pay of Rs.2400 plus admissible allowances.

Age Limits: between 18yrs to 27yrs as on last date of application form. Upper age relaxation for OBC—3yrs; SC/ST—5yrs; PH—10yrs and Ex-Serviceman and others—as per norms.

Selection Steps: Candidates selection will be through Written Examination and Typing Test. Written Examination will be on followings — General Knowledge, Mathematics, English language and Reasoning & Analytical ability. There will be no negative markings.

Typing Test will be carried on Computer where candidates will be have to type minimum 30 words per minute in English or minimum 25 words per minute in Hindi

Admit card will be issued to the eligible candidates in due course.

How to Apply: Interested candidates should collect the Application form from the concerned Post Offices in their division/ circle at the cost of Rs.50/- (for list of Post Offices authorized to distribute Application form, read the Advt. Link given below)
Examination Fee: Candidates will have to pay prescribed Examination fee of Rs.200 which is to be deposited at the Post Office from where candidates is collecting the Application form.

SC/ST/PH and Female candidates are exempted from Application fee.

The Applications duly filled in along with original receipt of ACG-67/UCR issued by the identified Post Office of this Circle towards payment of Examination fee have to be sent to “Direct Recruitment Cell, New Delhi HO, New Delhi-110001" through SPEED POST/REGISTERED POST  only.
Do not include or attach documents or certificates of qualification/ caste / age proof or etc along with application form except the receipt of Examination fee.

Important Dates: —

Application form can be collected from the concerned Post Offices from dated 11-8-12 to 25-09-2012 (25th September 2012)

The Application form should reach by Speed Post/ Registered Post on or before 01st October 2012 (11/10/2012 for Candidates residing in Assam/ Meghalaya/Arunachal Pradesh/Mlzoram/Manipur/ /Nagaland/Tripura/Sikkim/ Ladakh Division of J &K state, Lahaul & Spiti District of Himachal Pradesh and Pangi sub division of Chamba Dist in Himachal Pradesh Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep)
