I've enjoyed this bike for 5.5 years. It's been fantastic but its time to move on. I bought a new bike this spring and she's getting neglected. I've enjoyed everything from trips to the mountains, camping at MotoGP, New Orleans, track days and commuting on her. She really is a great bike but its time for her to find a new home.

This bike has always been properly maintained and runs great. Overall condition is very good with exception to some minor cosmetic blemishes from a tip over while parked back in the spring. I found her laying down when I came outside (it hurt my pride more than the bike). Otherwise she looks fantastic and is in ready to ride condition.

It can best be described by a fellow K12RS owner, Jay Leno. http://www.k12rs.com/Articles.htm

Jay Leno said, "…The great thing about it (K12RS) is that the speed of it is so deceptive compare to a lot of other bikes. I was on the freeway and I looked down, I see 115 (I had it for about 3 days) and I thought that it is in kilometers of course, but I looked down again and I said this is not kilometers this is Miiiles. It was like 185km. It is deceptively fast… And that's what I like about it, high torque all the time, which is fabulous, it's not peaky at all. It just pulls in any gear… I am just impressed with the workmanship of it, it's almost sort of an aircraft spec. Even more so… You know there's motorcycle spec, and then there's automotive spec and there's aircraft spec. The thing I like about this BMW is that it's built to aircraft specification… As an overall bike I love it, excelling in any one category, there are probably other bikes that might take it. But I don't think if there's any other bike that can do all the things that this can do as well. I think it is the best bike they (BMW) have ever built… A wonderful, wonderful bike…"

This was Shiva's response to this review...

"Jay is not the only one loving this amazing machine. BMW K1200RS is the most sophisticated and best kept secret motorcycle being produced in Europe today. Always keeping a low profile, this intercontinental cruise missile, with an uncanny ability of turning into an F-16 as the roads become tighter and more fun, has been winning the hearts of experienced riders from all cycling categories. It can metamorphose from an all out super-sport with 0 to 60 miles acceleration of less than 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 160 mph, to a cross-country touring bike. The first gear alone will catapult you beyond the speed limit of most highways in the US, and the silky smooth engine provides one of the most luxurious rides on any motorcycle today. If you are over 30, with only one bike in the garage, travel over 12,000 miles a year and have an affinity for speed and refined European design, then this is the bike for you. "
