We've been doing our best to brush up our rotary flying skills with some of the recent FSX helicopter releases from Military Visualizations and Nemeth Designs - now we've got a couple more to fly along with a great new GA aircraft.

The speedy CH-47 Chinook transport is still providing sterling service many years after its introduction in the 1960s and is a favourite of both the US Army and the RAF. The FSX machine comes in three US Army liveries with a fully modelled cabin complete with deployable machine guns.

The Sikorsky S-64 Skycrane is a real multi-purpose heavy lifter and the MilViz / Nemeth Designs model includess working water-dropping and sling-loading systems, with the sling-load controller's position modelled in the fully interactive virtual cockpit.

Both the Chinook and the Skycrane are on sale by Download, priced at £22.45 / €28.55 / $34.99.

For those of you who prefer the fixed-wing flying experience, a new MilViz Baron B-55 for FSX is also on sale. The Baron comes in four paint schemes, flies just like its real-world counterpart and includes a top quality sound set, realistic night lighting and custom effects. The aircraft features a functional 'Stormscope' lightning detector in the highly detailed cockpit, and one of the six free missions included gives you the chance to pass a realistic virtual version of an actual FAA checkride.

The Download of the MilViz Baron B-55 costs £19.40 / €24.45 / $29.99.
