Ghana – 2014 World Cup squad is a post from: Just Football
Ghana shone in the 2010 World Cup and were famously one penalty away from becoming Africa’s first team to reach a semi final. Heading to Brazil the Black Stars still have many players surviving from that successful team, but will the advantage of added experience count or will it just be simply older legs?
Michael Essien missed out through injury but if he stays fit this time he has the ability to drive this Ghanaian team, while Kwadwo Asamoah and Kevin-Prince Boateng are two players who have established themselves in Europe’s top leagues. Asamoah Gyan and Andre Ayew offer creativity and goals, whilst Majeed Waris could be Ghana’s secret weapon, having starred in some of their recent friendly matches and coming off the back of a successful goalscoring season at Valenciennes. Placed in an extremely testing group, can Ghana qualify?
