Puck Fair

10 – 12 August 2014

Venue: Killorglin

Puck Fair is one of Ireland’s most unusual street festivals – a wild mountain goat is crowned King of the town for three days and nights. Come along for twelve hours of free fun and family events each day.

King Puck is crowned in the afternoon by the Queen of Puck, traditionally a local schoolgirl, after a coronation parade brings him through the town to the Puck Stand. He rules over the town until his dethronement on the final day when he is taken back to the mountains.

Other events include a Horse Fair, a Cattle Fair, and a fireworks display. See street entertainers, and enjoy music and circus workshops, puppet shows, pipe band recitals, music and dance on both stages and open air night-time concerts. Birds Euroshow provides a colourful, fun spectacle every year and stalls line the main streets advertising their wares; and a craft fair takes place at the top of the town, where you can sit down, listen to the music and just watch it all happen!

All events are free.
