On Facebook, Leni Robredo proudly shared her photos while posing with nurse volunteers and doctors involved in Operation Smile in Cebu.
“Bringing smiles to children with cleft-lip palate, Vice President Leni Robredo graces Operation Smile mission in Cebu. This is the first of the 23 missions scheduled all over the country to provide safe surgery and care to 120 children with facial deformities. Operation Smile is an #AngatBuhay partner of the Office of the Vice President of the Philippines. They have pledged to help several #AngatBuhay communities in Bukidnon, Western Samar and Agusan del Sur.”
Robredo’s supporters commend her helping our less fortunate brethren.
Cassandra Tolentino wrote: “Buti pa si Madam VP, helping to uplift the lives of children so they can smile and have a better life…itong Digong government they want to take the lives of 9 year olds.”
Remy Centeno remarked: “VP Leni, the true public servant who does her best to help all kinds of people in need. God love and protect VP Leni always.!”
Yaki San commented: “Yan ang public servant, working and trying to do her best. Hindi tulad ng majority puro tsismis and fabrication ang inaatupag. Sayang , they chose to let go of you at iwan ang mga kwestionableng karakter na nakaupo. GMA for Banko Central… Binay appointed as adviser to OFW and Marcos for DILG soon (?)”

Minerva Mamasalagat Sacar-Guiling commented to make ‘buking’ Robredo to netizens: “Nakakatwa..credit grabber e bakit wla po s streamer pangalan nyo dun? Ngreact ang mga doctors and volunteers na totoong nghirap doon..nkidaan lng kayo pra mgselfie..kakahiya po kayo..matagal na yan na program..years na yan..tsk tsk tsk desperate na ata po kayo..”
Raymon James Garlan castigated Robredo for credit-grabbing: “We were there from the start to finish, from preparation to aftercare. We volunteered for those days and rendered service way beyond our duty. We take pride and joy in helping those people. Please give credit to whom credit is due. Sponsors, Volunteers, Doctors and Nurses have been working day and night for the whole week to make the whole operation a success should be applauded and not just credited to one person who have been there for a couple of hours. Just saying and sharing my sentiments! God Bless you all!”
Joseph June wrote: “Kung ang job nga niya ay dadalo lang at magpa-picture kung kailan malapit nang matapos ang limang araw na operasyon.. eh di job well done nga.. kahit saang partido ka ka-alyado, dapat pa rin bigyang halaga ang hirap at pagod nang mga nagvolunteer at hindi ang puppet na pinamumukhang sa kanya galing ang proyekto..”
Pearlalu Isito tells Robredo’s pom pom supporters in social media to check first before heaping praises on Robredo: “OMG! Can you please check the website of operation smile. It has never been under any politics. Mag-thank you ka kung si VP ang isa sa mga consistent donor sa surgical mission. Your thanking the woman na ngpakita lng ng ilang oras!”
Robert Grande remarked: “FYI lang sa mga taong kulang sa kaalaman…ang Operation Smile ay matagal ng ngproprovide ng libreng operation ( cleft lip/cleft palate) partner nila ang Philippine Band of Mercy diyan sa Pinas.. yearly yan kaya huwag niyo sabihan na project ni Leni yan..just saying. :-(“
DenverLeah Canete scoolded Leni’s supporters for taking credit: “Tigilan nyo na yang mga comment nyo.. research muna bago mgmagaling.. i take pride sa mga medical staffs , nurses, surgeons orderly na 16hrs a day on duty for 3days.. yang c Leni last day lng yan bumisita and stayed for a little while..di p ba kayo sawa sa ganyang style?”
So I check the Operation Smile Philippines website to see if indeed the OVP has partnered with them and as of this writing, there is no mention that such partnership exists.
