Yang’s Dumplings Burwood

When we did our China Trip earlier in the year, one of the places we were recommended to hit in Shanghai was Yang’s Dumplings. A chain of famous long established dumpling houses; Yang’s churns out pastry encased dumplings – filled with delicious meat juices that are hot and squirty. It’s a surprise then to hear that Yang’s has now opened a store in Burwood. Note: It’s the express version of it; so Yang’s Burwood is mostly takeaway but there are 4 seats in the shop; so if you’re lucky – you might land one of these. Locals were popping in; and their first remarks “How long?” “25 minutes” “15 minutes”. It’s that popular that their dumplings are flying out the door. Service went above and beyond what this was; a takeaway shop and combo that with cheap and terrific bites (yes, we thought the Sydney Yang’s was better).

Yang’s dumplings signature dish – Pan fried mixed pork buns. We had these in pork and pork and spinach. $8.80 for 6.

Yang’s Dumplings Burwood – Dumplings $8.80 for 6.

Yang’s Dumplings Burwood’s Xiao Long Bao. $8.80 for 6

Coming in at $8.80, these piping hot, just steamed Xiao Long Baos are delicate with a nice sweet broth and a tender pliant wrapper. Very tasty and so wallet friendly.

A look a their menu. Also here; dumpling soup and noodles.

A shot of Yang’s Dumplings in Shanghai. A foodshoot is underway while we’re in there. Was incredible cheap in china. Probably about $4Aud as it were.
