The application deadline for Screen Training Ireland's forthcoming European training programme, "VFX: Script to Screen" is this coming Monday 1st July 2013. The programme, supported by Bord Scannán na hÉireann/The Irish Film Board and the MEDIA programme of the EU, will provide producers, directors and key creatives with an overview of visual effects from development to post-production over three intensive, practical modules.

Screen Training Ireland is delighted to be collaborating with Windmill Lane VFX and Screen Scene VFX on the design of the programme.

"We welcome this training programme and see it as an important step in the development of a competitive VFX industry" said James Morris of Windmill Lane.

The combined expertise of Screen Scene and Windmill Lane, two highly regarded VFX facilities, will provide participants with an in-depth understanding of the impact of VFX on all aspects of concept development, production and post, as well as providing access to the highest level of local and international visual effects talent.

"VFX needs at least the same if not more prep than the rest of production. I think the input of both companies into the course design will really bring that home to everyone taking part", said Jim Duggan, Managing Director of Screen Scene.

Further tutor and guest speaker details will be announced in the coming weeks.
