Lenny Abrahamson's WHAT RICHARD DID has picked up the Golden Tulip International Award for Best Film in the main competition at the 32nd Istanbul International Film Festival. Adapted from Kevin Power's novel Bad Day In Blackrock and written by Malcolm Campbell (Skins, Shameless), who recently picked up the Best Screenplay Award at Evening Standard British Film Awards, What Richard Did is the third film from acclaimed director Lenny Abrahamson, whose previous work includes Garage and Adam & Paul. The film stars Jack Reynor, who is set to star in the next Transformers Hollywood blockbuster, as Richard Karlsen a golden-boy athlete and undisputed alpha-male of his privileged set of South Dublin teenagers. The world is bright and everything seems possible, until one night Richard does something that destroys it all and shatters the lives of the people closest to him.

WHAT RICHARD DID was produced by Ed Guiney for Element Pictures with Andrew Lowe executive producing and was funded by Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board (IFB) and Screen Scene.

WHAT RICHARD DID is now available on DVD and On-Demand.
