Legal Technology is part of Corporate Technology organization, which delivers technology solutions to support Legal as they advise the business on applicable laws, regulations and rules that govern our business globally, and assess and measure compliance and related risks, and monitor and test the adequacy of the firm's compliance control environment. Legal Tech delivers tools to: (1) aid Legal in managing their case load and all corresponding activity; (2) provide invoicing capabilities and knowledge management around engagement of outside counsel; (3) evidence and automate the process of mining digital information (eDiscovery) to support legal activity; (4) provide document management and knowledge management capabilities for legal staff to search and retrieve documents/information relevant to their legal activity; (5) provide MIS reporting & analytics on the entire legal matter & spend data; and (6) support the process of legal holds and document retention
This Senior Business Intelligence (BI) Developer/Analyst position will be primarily responsible for Data Warehouse, Analytics & Reporting development within JP Morgan’s Legal Technology. Development will include design, construction, testing, optimization, and deployment using Java, Oracle/SQL Server, Informatica, SAP Business Objects, QlikView and other BI tools. The Senior BI Developer/Analyst will also need to be able to work effectively with business users to understand the nature of requests, develop functional specifications, ensure accurate information delivery, and work with the core Data Warehouse team to implement new data or correct existing data. This will include developing short and long term plans and system capabilities with others in the organization. Finally, the Senior BI Developer/Analyst will work to improve reporting processes and simplify the environment. This will be achieved through report consolidation and retirement, automation, and report delivery redesign.
Overall, the ideal candidate for this position will be highly skilled in reporting methodologies, reporting technologies, data manipulation and have expertise in the visualization and presentation of enterprise data. This will need to satisfy analytical, decision support, and operational reporting needs of the business community.
**_JOB RESPONSIBILITIES_**
* Develop analytical, decision support, and operational reporting on the SAP BI (Business Objects), QlikView or equivalent platforms.
* Work with business analysts & key technology partners to identify solutions to their reporting needs, develop new reports or modify existing reports.
* Identify process simplification opportunities for overall reporting environment. Work with operational reporting team and business partners to automate or simplify existing processes, and to remove any manual steps from report generation and delivery.
* Manage existing report inventory and implement changes to improve the accuracy of reports (removal of hard coded values, standardization of report calculations) and to decrease the overall number of reports through retirement or consolidation.
* Work with ETL and Data Warehouse SMEs to manage the development of new report subject areas as needed.
* Work directly with the larger Legal Data Warehouse team to maintain and correct dimensional or fact data that impacts report accuracy and availability.
* Assist in the definition of the database requirements, analyze existing models and reports looking for opportunities to improve their efficiency, and resolve technical problems.
* Ensure that existing reports meet or exceed defined performance and availability targets. Work with core DBA and Operate teams to support environment as needed.
* Deliver all work products to defined best practice standards and ensure high quality results.

Qualifications
**Desired Skills and Experience
* 5+ years of comprehensive report analysis and design experience with demonstrated knowledge of data warehouse / database structures.
* 4+ years of recent experience developing reports on SAP Business Objects or a similar platform.
* 4+ years of recent Data Warehouse experience including ETL (Informatica, SSIS), Oracle, SQL, PL/SQL.
* Working knowledge of Java/J2EE development.
* Demonstrated experience working with business partners, development of functional and technical specifications, and general project management in service of report development cycle.
* Strong communication skills with demonstrated experience managing development cycles and project management.
**_Nice To Have:_**
* Strong sense of personal ownership for tasks and strong desire to make lasting improvements in reporting capability and delivery.
* Experience with other reporting technologies that include QlikView, SSAS, Tableau, etc.
* Experience working on dashboards or other data visualization
**_EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS_**
* Bachelor’s Degree in MIS, Computer Science, or Engineering. Different field of study, with significant professional experience in BI Development, is acceptable.
