**BUSINESS OVERVIEW:

**Background**

The Firm-wide Oversight and Control Group provides a centralized view of all control functions, and thereby assists in immediate, real time problem detection and escalation. Within each line of business there are designated control officers who report both to the CEOs of their respective LOBs globally, and to the Chief Control Officer. Their roles are to coordinate across all functional areas, particularly with Risk and Compliance, and oversee regulatory exams for their coverage area, ensure regulatory issues are addressed expeditiously, lead/manage projects to ensure full compliance where appropriate, work with stakeholders to implement policy and regulatory changes as communicated by Legal and Compliance, oversee implementation of Self Assessments (RCSAs), with support of a central Control Design team, ensure changes are rolled out consistently across business areas where applicable, and execute required training. A central control team exists to support the senior control officers covering functional areas such as business management, governance and program management, training and communications.

The Latin America Oversight and Control Group assumes an oversight and consolidating role for the region, partnering with the LOB control officers, and their regional teams, as well as the Central Control Team, Risk and Compliance to deliver the function objectives at a Latin America level.

This specific position, located in São Paulo, will be part of the Corporate & Investment Bank organization (CIB) and responsible for the function''s control agenda in the Latin America region. The LATAM CIB Control Officer will report to LATAM Regional Control Officer in located in São Paulo.

**Job Responsibilities**:

* Design and execute project plans and programs to enhance a regional control agenda across identified business groups. Conduct strategic analyses to drive further and best practices.

* Drive the Operational Control team and function on relevant Latin America governance committees (when Regional Control Officer is unable to participate); partner closely with the Latin America Oversight and Controls Team.

* Partner with the global control team to develop and execute the Self Assessments (RSCA) program. Identify specific risks (inherent & residual) and associated risk ratings, control assessments (evidence, findings & conclusions) and control ratings, as well as business guidance & procedures following the RCSA standards set forth for the Firm.

* Oversee the entire life cycle of regulatory and other issues management to validate appropriate actions has been taken in accordance with stated action plans.

* For more significant matters, work develop plans that address issue root cause and produce appropriate MIS to track the progress of action plans so as to ensure completion within stated timeframes.

* Develop excellent cross functional working relationships with all business partners globally throughout the firm.

* Track, prepare for and help oversee internal and external examinations; ensure consistency and single messaging with external parties responsible for oversight and regulation.

* Develop a cohesive and effective partnership with Senior Business leaders, Control Teams, Legal, Compliance, Audit, Operations, so as to build and implement a control framework.

* Partner with other control colleagues across the firm to identify and analyze trends and remediation plans that are highlighted across multiple exams and then work to ensure they are appropriately and consistently addressed.

* Effectively manage programs and work-streams such as Inter-Affiliate Service Agreements, New Business Initiatives, FATCA and several others; reporting, data collection, and data analysis; ensure periodic and adhoc management reporting is completed, timely and accurately.

Qualifications

**Qualifications:**

* Strong background in business management and the ability to lead, negotiate, implement best practices, set priorities, plan, facilitate collaboration, coach, direct activities, and hold teams accountable.
* Expertise in the effective presentation / visualization of data / findings and the ability to proactively communicate through management updates, presentations, and regular reporting. Excel Macros is also highly recommended
* Strong analytical skills particularly in regard to assessing the impact of internal control weakness and themes across the supported businesses.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to present information in differing degrees of detail and form depending on the audience.
* 5-8 years experience in business management, finance, risk and/or operational management roles with a strong track record working across organizational lines.
* Preferably a strong background in and familiarity with Corporate & Investment banking core businesses.
* Outstanding ability to analyze problems and successfully implement high visibility projects.
* A high level of attention to detail and quality assurance.
* Proven ability to build strong partnerships with colleagues, desire to learn quickly, be flexible and think strategically.
* Proven ability to be able to multi task as well as assess and change priorities.
* Ability to be effective in a global operating environment and a matrix management organization.
* Experience supporting strategic improvements and delivering measurable change.****
