### Global Data Department

Global Data is the backbone of Bloomberg Professional Services\. We build, manage and maintain accurate financial information products and datasets in a timely manner for the Bloomberg Terminal\. We drive the content that makes Bloomberg the leading and the most sought\-after data source in the world\. This is achieved by:

+ our continuous efforts to engage customers and understand their needs;
+ investing in technology and implementing innovative solutions; and
+ applying scientific theories such as data modeling to enhance our processes and software\.

Global Data collaborates with departments across Bloomberg, such as Sales, Analytics, News, and R&D\. Our Analysts:

+ Apply problem\-solving skills to identify innovative work\-flow efficiencies and implement technology solutions to enhance our processes and software
+ Assist our world\-renowned client support help desk with escalated client inquiries
+ Develop expertise in fast\-moving market sector information
+ Intake and distill raw data to convey actionable information that enables our clients to make better\-informed decisions
+ Liaise with technology teams to enhance relevant product databases
+ Manage, improve and deliver accurate, high quality information for the Bloomberg Terminal

### The Role:

As an entry level Global Data Analyst in our Global Data department, you'll play a key role in providing financial data, algorithms and analysis for the Bloomberg Terminal\. Analysts will manage content from the source, through to data acquisition, extraction, processing, normalization, quality control etc\. and will have project\-based work with other business units; analysts will also provide unparalleled customer services and solve complex issues, while building relationships with key market players in the financial industry\. As your experience grows, you will be expected to have greater influence on Bloomberg's coverage and services of your specific market of product, whether that is through technical or market expertise, project management or leadership\. Your role starts off with Global Data Training Program and then you will be placed into one of the teams\.

### Global Data Training Program:

Your career as a Global Data Analyst will begin with our foundational training program that focuses on financial concepts, data, and Bloomberg terminal functionality\. The training offers an overview across all financial market sectors that build a foundation for a career at Bloomberg by developing product knowledge, understanding our clients, and building relationships throughout the company\. The 4\-week training program includes classroom training in financial concepts, data, and the functions of our state\-of\-the\-art Bloomberg Terminal, as well as the opportunity to gain hands\-on experience in one of these market sectors: Equities, Fixed Income, Funds, Commodities, Economic Statistics, FX or Derivatives etc\.

You'll then work in one of these market sectors after you complete the training program\. From there, you will be trained further with the team you are in, and learn from everyone around you who are experts in at least one of our business areas\. We ensure a unique and rewarding learning experience for you at Bloomberg\.

Qualifications, Experiences and Skills

+ Can join us full\-time in July/August 2016
+ Fluent in both Japanese and English, effective written and verbal communication skills
+ Hold Bachelor's degree, or equivalent qualification, or equivalent experiences
+ High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
+ Innovative mind and strong ownership
+ Strong project management, problem solving and organizational skills
+ Team player with strong collaboration skills
+ Adaptable to fast\-pace and fluid environment

### In addition, the below experiences or skills are preferred:

+ Experiences in customer services or client relationship management
+ Exposure to marketing
+ Applied statistics, data modeling or relational database management
+ Process engineering
+ Programming languages: VBA, SQL, Python, MATLAB, R
+ Proactively participated in extracurricular activities in addition to coursework
