The purpose of this position is to serve as the primary point of contact for the planning and execution of joint-bilateral Command Post exercises and related field training exercises conducted or supported by Headquarters, United States Army Japan.

### Duties

You will conduct initial, mid and final range planning for command participation in joint and bilateral exercises. You will attend bilateral exercises to identify and resolve problems and to evaluate effectiveness of exercise plans. During exercises, serves as the (1) Operations Officer responsible for providing technical supervision to numerous functional area work cells and (2), the Army component Liaison Officer to the sub-unified command (U.S. Forces Japan). You will analyze, develop, refines and coordinate exercise scenarios and objectives jointly with Japanese Defense Officials and other DOD Components and Agencies. You will coordinate with exercise plans officers to develop budget estimates, conduct cost analysis and to justify deviations in expenditures and un-financed requirements. You will review exercise funds and updates budget programs as required. You will plan and coordinate exercise related meetings, briefings and conferences. You will develop and prepare a wide range of correspondence, policies, procedures and instructions in support of the bilateral exercise program.****

### Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. **Experience required:**

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: planning the joint-bilateral field training exercises and related field training exercises, developing and preparing a wide range of correspondence, policies, procedures and instruction in support of the bilateral exercise program.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency (knowledge, skills, abilities) in the following areas:
