**Language Quality Manager (LQM), Japan**

**Dell EMC Globalization Team**

As a member of the Globalization Team, the LQM (Language Quality Manager) sets and maintains localization quality standards, defines the appropriate review strategy and contributes to key technology initiatives and programs. The LQM also serves as a key point of contact for local stakeholders to define localization requirements and gather feedback. In this role, the LQM will also work closely with external localization vendors to monitor and report on quality trends and support linguistic resources to ensure quality thresholds are achieved and maintained.

**Primary responsibilities**

+ Liaise with key local stakeholders to understand specific requirements in order to support EMC business and revenue goals.

+ Define linguistic guidelines, expectations and quality standards for Japanese.

+ Promote the Globalization TeamĀ“s capabilities and benefits for the country and network with key stakeholders.

+ Contribute to the improvement of localization tools and processes.

+ Review and approve marketing and product materials, and implement changes to improve quality of the output.

+ Occasionally manage localization project in response to urgent requests to support local revenue.

+ Perform live linguistic testing of user interfaces based on an established test script, assess vendor quality and escalate defects.

+ Monitor vendor performance, provide feedback on quality and final deliverables and ensure there are procedures and processes to drive continuous improvement.

+ Work in conjunction with Project Managers to craft the review schedule, identify risks and suggest adjustments to project plan and define the appropriate review strategy.

**Professional Experience**

+ 2-5 years practice in IT translation and familiarity with IT concepts and terminology.

+ Previous experience in localization quality assurance.

**Competencies and Education**

+ Native speaker of Japanese.

+ Strong written and spoken English communication skills.

+ Strong project coordination and time-management skills.

+ Ability to work with remote teams in a multi-cultural environment across time zones.

+ Flexibility to adapt writing style or quality expectations to the specified audience.

+ Proactive approach and the ability to work independently, while acting as a team player.

+ Willingness to use designated linguistic tools and technology and to learn new technology as needed.

+ Familiarity with Machine Translation and post-editing concepts.

+ Degree in translation (technical translation is preferred), language technology or language intelligence.
