Digital Editor
Project Syndicate is seeking a Digital Editor in Prague to take the lead in maintaining and advancing our digital profile. Reporting to the Managing Editor, Editor-in-Chief, and VP of Operations, the Digital Editor is responsible for:
Editing and controlling the flow of articles on www.project-syndicate.org
Social media strategy/implementation
Data analysis of traffic to www.project-syndicate.org
Editing photos used on www.project-syndicate.org
Compiling/editing/sending/measuring email newsletters
Tracking special partner series performance
Design and functionality updates to www.project-syndicate.org
Working with our Business Development team on expanding digital revenues, including managing display ads and newsletter sponsorships.
This position is central to the organization and the successful candidate will be in the middle of some of our most important strategic decisions. This is not an entry-level position. The successful candidate will have experience with:
Digital publishing
Journalism
Google Analytics
Social media editing (specifically Twitter, Facebook, Google+, LinkedIn) – Google Documents, Dropbox, and other cloud-based services
MadMimi and/or similar email newsletter clients
Amazon, Vook, and/or other ebook services
In addition to editorial and promotional work, the Digital Editor is also the main point of contact with Ludopoli, the company that handles all coding, design, and web development issues for Project Syndicate. Our content management system is run through Ludopoli, and the successful candidate must be at least basically familiar with coding, HTML, and general back-end online matters. Native-level English is a must, and secondary language skills are highly desirable.
