SHU UEMURA x TAKASHI MURAKAMI
For the final artist collaboration of 2013 — the 30th anniversary of the brand — Shu Uemura presents an exclusive holiday collection featuring artwork based on upcoming animation series “6HP (Six Hearts Princess)” directed by Takashi Murakami, an internationally renowned master of contemporary art and leasing icon of the Tokyo art scene — an artist who displays the same uniqueness of vision and creativity as Japan’s explosive master of beauty and colour, Shu Uemura.
“6HP” was first previewed at the “Murakami Versailles” exhibition in France in 2010. With this work, Takashi Murakami has captured the essence of the adventures of magical “majokko” (magical witch girls) in animated form. “Majokko” has remained a popular animation genre in Japan for more than a half century; in this world normal girls magically transform into super women to fight the enemy or to solve problems. The new animation work is Takashi Murakami’s modern re-interpretation of this genre, subliminating aspects of Tokyo’s “otaku” subculture and the worlds of cosplay and manga (cartoon in Japanese) into an artwork.
For this unique collaboration with Shu Uemura, Takashi Murakami took inspiration from his “6HP” animation, creating exclusive packaging featuring pink and black princesses and their magic mascots. He also directed and produced a special animation, “6HP Six Hearts Princess Pink or Black.”

PINK PRINCESS MAKEUP TIPS
Creating the pure, romantic and feminine impression of the pink princess, round curves rather than straight and sharp lines are a must around the eyes.
By using pinks around the eye, the entire impression can be too soft. So, in order to avoid a blurred impression around the eyes, create gradation between the dark and light shades of Heart-Full Parallel Palette and highlight on top of the eyelid to create dimension. Sharpen the eye frame line with brown and pink highlights in the center. Using the romantic colours from the Lip & Cheek Fun-tasy, enhance the feminine impression with round shapes.
Drawing a round line around the lip frame gives a plump and soft impression.
BLACK PRINCESS MAKEUP TIPS
To create a cool and glamorous impression, straight and sharp lines are a must. However, in order to keep the princess-like image of the animation character, incorporate a romantic element such as soft feathers or a spiral design with a Black Jewel On The Wing on the area that grabs the most attention — the eyes. Skin is semi matte in texture; add glow on top of nose line and cheek bone for a glamorous look. Brush the cheek brush sharply under the cheek to enhance the shadow with Lip & Cheek Fun-tasy.
Or contrary, use the fuchsia pink or red for lips and draw straight lines to sharpen the corners of lips but be sure to balance this with other parts of the face by drawing feminine curves lines around the top of the lips.
