From the Illamasqua I’mperfection Collection comes five new Nail Varnishes and out of the five, I picked up Fragile, Scarce and Freckle.

Each bottle retails at £14.50 for 15ml of product.

Most of the Illamasqua Nail Varnishes I have are immaculate in quality and pigmentation. Nonetheless, these didn’t disappoint me either.

These speckled nail varnishes consist a mixture of irregular, bigger size hexagon glitter and specks of black glitter suspended on a cream colour base. The specks are quite densely packed and well-distributed which allows even application.

FRAGILE

Fragile has a pale blue cream colour base which looks pretty sharp and stark from a distance. Not my favourite as it contains a little too much white and I can’t be sure it looks good on my fingers. Colours with too much white tend to make my fingers appear darker than usual and that’s not something I fancy.

However, Fragile looks absolutely stunning on ladies with fairer skin tones.

SCARCE

Scarce, a lovely creamy baby pink which works very nicely on my skin tone.

Despite having black glitters scattered around the nails, I find this shade wearable and understated — even for work unless your job requires you to stick to certain corporate colours. This shade is girly and natural, great for starters exploring speckled nail polishes.

FRECKLE

Freckle is a colour I know I want to get because, remember? I have a thing for dirty, murky colours and this medium beige-brown spells all that. You either love this sort of colour or you don’t.

And I am someone who loves them for sure. I believe this shade will look divine on people with tan skin — and I like how it looks against my skin tone.

All three shades have brilliant consistency and they are beautifully pigmented. They ain’t one-coaters like some of the brand’s nail varnishes but two coats do the job. I wouldn’t recommend going for three coats as the third coat will probably bury the first coat’s specks too deep (if you know what I mean).

Overall, great additions to my stash as I do not own any speckled top coats.

If you have speckled top coats, you might want to skip these because I would imagine the results may be very similar when you pair a cream base underneath.

Thank you for looking.
