For the past 14 days, I have been using nothing else apart from the Lancôme Visionnaire Skincare Range. You may have recalled me mentioning Visionnaire Advanced Flaw Corrector on multiple occasions prior to this challenge. I have always favor pairing it with Advanced Génifique Youth Activating Concentrate but have never followed a strict routine like such.

In this post, I wish to share my experiences of this new skincare regime with you. I also hope to share how this regime has worked for me, what I like and dislike about the products and the results.

Let me start by sharing what skin type I have.

I have sensitive/combination skin prone to acne. In fact, I have suffered from mild (depends on how you look at it) acne during my teenage years where my face is constantly hot, red and oily. Not many photos were taken during that period of down time.

My skin seems to have gotten better once I moved to the UK for uni. And that was when I started taking care of my skin with proper skincare.

Due to the nature of my combination skin in a humid country, my pores tend to be more visible than they should — well, at least what I wish for. I have always battled for less visible pores and smoother skin, let alone brighten and more radiant complexion.

THE REGIME

2 weeks ago, I started using the entire range of skincare products by Lancôme — from cleansing to moisturizing. My aim is to fully test out the brand’s Visionnaire range thus I have not incorporated any Génifique products. I also aim to keep my skincare regime as simple and fuss-free as possible.

Both my daily and nightly regime are very similar, just a switch in one or two products, mainly cleanser and moisturizer.

DAY CARE

I believe most of us rush through our morning routine just to catch an extra 10 minutes of sleep, am I correct? Well, for one, I am so the less products to apply the better.

After cleanser, I moved straight to toner, eyes and moisturize my face with an emulsion instead of cream. The Visionnaire Pre-Correcting Advanced Emulsion is lightweight yet moisturizes and preps the skin for foundation application.

The Teint Visionnaire Skin Perfecting Makeup Duo (full review will soon follow) which is enriched with LR 2412, the active ingredient found in Visionnaire skincare products completes my daily routine. It contains SPF 20 which is quite sufficient for my day-to-day activities although I wish it contains a higher SPF, say SPF 30 would be a safer bet for sunny Singapore?

Because the foundation contains LR 2412, I skipped using the serum — keeping everything to its minimum.

Step 1: Cleanse – Mousse Éclat Self-Foaming Cleanser

Step 2: Tone – Visionnaire Pre-Correcting Advanced Lotion*

Step 3: Eyes – Visionnaire Yeux Advanced Eye Contour Perfecting Corrector*

Step 4: Moisturize – Visionnaire Pre-Correcting Advanced Emulsion

NIGHT CARE

After removing my makeup, I double cleanse with the brand’s cleansing foam. It’s gentle yet effective — doesn’t strip moisture off my skin.

Step 1: Cleanse – Mousse Douceur Softening Cleansing Foam

Step 2: Tone – Visionnaire Pre-Correcting Advanced Lotion*

Same routine follows, after applying the Visionnaire Pre-Correcting Advanced Lotion, I move onto the eyes. Visionnaire Yeux Advanced Eye Contour Perfecting Corrector is a new product that has joined the Visionnaire family recently. It promises skin perfection, reduction in dark circles, minimizing wrinkles and evens skin texture around the eye contour area.

I don’t particularly fancy its packaging as I feel that the pull-off cap is difficult to remove (mine has a crack in it already). In order to squeeze product out from the tube, you have to turn the applicator — which I feel a little troublesome. The clear rubber applicator doesn’t do much for me either, I prefer using my ring finger.

Visionnaire Yeux Advanced Eye Contour Perfecting Corrector has a beige tinge which I believe, aids in brightening the under eye area. After using it for 2 weeks, every day and night — I noticed a smoother and brighter eye contour area.

Step 3: Eyes – Visionnaire Yeux Advanced Eye Contour Perfecting Corrector*

Two to three pumps of Visionnaire Advanced Skin Corrector is sufficient for my entire face and neck. Texture of this serum is somewhat satin-like, it spreads well over the skin and leaves a satin finish.

I warm product with my palms and gently press onto my face starting from the center, forehead, chin and neck.

Step 4: Special – Visionnaire Advanced Skin Corrector*

Instead of using an emulsion, I fancy something a little richer for the night to help hydrate my skin after being in air-conditioning environment the entire day (and night). Many say sleeping in air-conditioning room is very drying for the skin, I agree but I can’t sleep without an air-conditioner.

As time goes by, I noticed my need for richer creams — emulsions used to work very well for me day and night but not anymore (differs from brand to brand).

Step 5: Moisturize – Visionnaire Correcting Polishing Cream*

Visionnaire Correcting Polishing Cream is luxuriously smooth. The refined texture is almost gel-like with a cooling sensation upon application. It comes with a duo-sided polishing pad — one side with more than 2000 micro-grains to polish away imperfections and the other ultra-smooth side to massage skin.

I hardly use the textured side for polishing after cleansing when face is still dumped but I enjoy using the ultra-smooth side to massage my face. Not every night, probably twice a week.

THE RESULTS

After I stopped using Visionnaire Advanced Flaw Corrector a few months ago, I can’t help but noticed my pores are more visible and the texture of my skin ain’t as smooth. So given this opportunity, I switched back in full force.

After the 14-Days Challenge To Flawless Skin With Lancôme Visionnaire Skincare Range, I think my skin’s overall condition has improved greatly and I am very impressed with the results. In such a short period of time, the results are visible enough to be documented. The before & after picture above clearly shows improvements (I hope you can spot the differences too) in skin’s texture. Skin tone seems to be more even and radiant with less visible pores.

I see my skin improving every day and it’s amazing. For me, results started showing the very next day. Although my skin is not 100% flawless, I am still very happy — the results are realistic I guess and they are what I would expect from the range.

At times I think, finding the right skincare product that works on myself, addressing the right concerns is harder than finding the perfect “little black dress”. It takes many trial and error, lots of effort, money and time just to find one.

For me, I think I have found the one — Visionnaire Advanced Flaw Corrector and its “condiments” are definitely on my HG list.

I have been fortunate as Lancôme Singapore provides some of the products for me to try — I reassure you, these are products I truly like and they really worked on me and friends who have tried them think so too.

All pictures in this post are not photoshopped or filtered.

For those who have the same concerns as I do, I highly recommend trying this range of skincare. Start from the very basic like what I have done — a simple 4-steps day and 5-steps night routine can provide visible results in just 2 weeks.

Once you have embarked this journey for a longer time, you can then plan an upgrade by adding some Génifique and/or Blanc Expert products to fully address all your concerns (believe me, I have too many concerns to be addressed all at once, my skin can’t take too much at one go so I am taking it slow).

THE MAKEUP

Makeup (primer and foundation) are as important to me as skincare because together, they help me achieve more flawless and even complexion with the appearance of lesser open pores and smoother skin.

I am thrilled to read about the NEW Lancôme Teint Visionnaire Skin Perfecting Makeup Duo earlier this year. To complete my Visionnaire challenge, I complete my day care routine with this foundation. Loving it so far and I can’t wait to share a review all about it in a separate entry.
